Janet van Dyne is the wife of Hank Pym and mother of Hope van Dyne. While working as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., she disappeared during a mission.

Disappearance[]
Janet van Dyne joined S.H.I.E.L.D. alongside her husband Hank Pym. At some point, she sacrificed herself, ending up in the Quantum Realm.[1]
Legacy[]
Following Janet van Dyne's "death," her daughter Hope was asked by Nick Fury to join S.H.I.E.L.D. However, she was also killed during a mission in Odesa, Ukraine. This loss so similar to Janet's made Hank Pym go insane and plot to end the Avengers Initiative.[1]
