Janet van Dyne's Homestead was the home of Janet van Dyne during her time in the Quantum Realm.
History[]
A small particle infiltrated the Quantum Realm and crashed onto the ground and died. Its energy dissipated over time, leaving a cave-like structure behind.[1] Janet van Dyne established her homestead in the cave during her time trapped within the Quantum Realm, constructing a water source and raising Quantum Realm mounts. One day, van Dyne emerged from her homestead to fill her cloth water bottle when she and her mounts noticed something fall from the sky. After running back into her homestead to arm herself, she rushed off to investigate the mysterious crashed object.
van Dyne discovered that the crashed object was a ship piloted by another human who had become trapped in the Quantum Realm. The man told van Dyne that he was a traveler and scientist that crashed off course in his ship that could travel the Multiverse. They then agreed to work together to fix his ship and get them both back home, using van Dyne's mounts to drag his ship back to her homestead. They went through multiple attempts to repair the Multiversal Engine Core back at van Dyne's homestead, but nothing worked. During this time, van Dyne opened up to Kang about her life, and he assured her that she would get back home to her daughter. After a long time working on it, they finally fixed the Core.
When they connected the Core onto the ship, it connected itself to the man's mind, which allowed van Dyne to access his memories, and she saw who he truly was, Kang the Conqueror. In the visions, she saw Kang killing people with no remorse and destroying countless worlds and timelines. Kang, realizing what had happened, tried to convince van Dyne to stick with the plan, promising to take her back home. Van Dyne knew she couldn't let Kang escape, so she shrunk the Core and stole it. van Dyne's homestead was destroyed by the energy blasts Kang released in his anger. Knowing she couldn't beat him, van Dyne used several grow discs to enlarge the core before fleeing from the site of her former homestead, never to return.[2]
Behind the Scenes[]
- According to Will Htay, Janet van Dyne's homestead served as a precursor to the Celestium, both locations being designed with concentric circles in mind.[1]
