"I swear to God, there was a dog chasing me, like a big hound, or–"
"Hound of the Baskervilles, was it?"
"Egyptian jackal. It was a jackal."
Steven Grant and J.B.[src]

Jackals are ancient Egyptian creatures that can be summoned from another dimension.

History[]

Summoned[]

Museum Attack[]

A jackal was summoned by Arthur Harrow to kill Steven Grant and take away the scarab from him in the National Art Gallery. The jackal was able pin him in a bathroom and forced its way only to find that Grant had become the Moon Knight. The jackal was then overpowered and beaten to death by Moon Knight.[1]

Fighting in London[]

Later, a jackal was summoned again by Arthur Harrow to attack and take away the Scarab of Ammit from Steven Grant. It chased Grant and Layla El-Faouly and threw Grant out of a building's window. It then pursued Grant and began to attack him, only for El-Faouly to try and stop it. The jackal began to attack them both. When Grant as Mr. Knight punched the jackal away, he thought it was defeated, but it continued to threaten people. Spector told Grant to let him have control and as Moon Knight, made the jackal chase him on rooftops until tricking it to jump onto a steeple, killing it. The jackal then disintegrated.[2]

Characteristic Traits[]

Jackals are vicious and aggressive creatures that are taller than humans. They bite and scratch their enemies with their sharp teeth and claws. They resemble dogs with grey hair on their head with glowing white eyes. They are shown to not be mindless creatures that follow instruction or commands without question as jackals are shown to retreat or run away when overpowered. When a jackal dies, they turn into sand.

The strength, durability, and speed of jackals surpass that of a human, for they are able to effortlessly lift two people with each hand, absorb damages that are inflicted on them, and can catch up to Moon Knight while running on rooftops.

Most notably, the jackals are invisible to normal humans, although human Avatars such as Moon Knight are able to see them.
