"He discovered that there were universes stacked on top of his own..."
The subject of this article comes from an alternate universe connecting to the main timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This universe is designated as Destroyed Earth Universe.

"It measures the resonant frequencies of the Monolith piece..."
"...and locks onto the frequencies in the Monolith through space-time."
Jemma Simmons and Leo Fitz[src]

The Isochronus Cyclotron was a device built by Owen Shaw using Leo Fitz's schematics that could activate the Time Di'Alla to transport people through time.

History[]

Created by Leo Fitz[]

"So, we spend decades on the schematics. What happens when we don't finish the job?"
"Then we trust that someone else will carry on after us."
Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons[src]

In a timeline where the Earth was destroyed, S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Leo Fitz worked on several leads to reverse this cataclysm. Among those leads was the Isochronus Cyclotron, a device to target the Time Di'Alla's frequencies across space-time to transport people through time. However, Fitz never built the device himself and only left the designs of the equipment.

The designs were later recovered by Owen Shaw, Fitz's son-in-law. Shaw was able to build the Isochronus Cyclotron in the Zephyr One where the True Believers survived on Earth.[1]

Used by Owen Shaw[]

"That damn thing drew a year's battery reserves when he fired it up. Didn't think it did anything, but sure enough, here you are. Heroes from the past."
Samuel Voss to Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons[src]

In 2091, using a fragment of the Time Di'Alla he had taken with him when exiled from the Lighthouse, Shaw activated the Isochronus Cyclotron, which resulted in the arrival of a team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents from another timeline after they were kidnapped by Enoch, so they would be made aware of the future destruction of Earth.

The Isochronus Cyclotron was found by S.H.I.E.L.D. after they found shelter in Zephyr One following their escape from the Lighthouse. Fitz and Jemma Simmons eventually figured out that the device worked in conjunction with a fragment of the Time Di'Alla in the True Believers' possession. However, they would need the entire Di'Alla to return to their time.[1]

Used by S.H.I.E.L.D.[]

To that end, S.H.I.E.L.D. returned to the Lighthouse with Zephyr One, splitting the Di'Alla's fragment in two and leaving one with Enoch to watch and prepare the machine. The rest of the team met up with the Inhuman Flint, who restored the Di'Alla from their fragment using his powers. However, while preparing the machine, a Kree guard attacked Enoch, damaging the machine before Deke Shaw saved Enoch.

Enoch and Shaw failed to repair the equipment powering the Isochronus Cyclotron; Enoch suggested using his battery instead, warning that doing so would cause him to explode and destroy the Lighthouse. Shaw reluctantly agreed to sacrifice himself and connected Enoch to the machine. Shaw then waited until the last moment for the whole team to be gathered in the Lighthouse in front of the Di'Alla before activating the Isochronus Cyclotron, sending S.H.I.E.L.D. back into their time.[2] As Enoch exploded, the fragment of the Di'Alla in the machine liquified and struck Shaw, sending him back in time as well before the explosion destroyed Zephyr One and the Isochronus Cyclotron.[3]
