"You'll ruin the company!"
"Wrong! I'm going to save it! We're not selling weapons anymore. We're done."
―Obadiah Stane and Tony Stark[src]

Tony Stark returned home from his kidnapping in Afghanistan and decided that he was going to end weapons production at Stark Industries. Stane tried to convince Stark otherwise, insisting that his decision would ruin the company. However, Stark insisting that he would be saving the company, so Stane turned to Pepper Potts, asking her to talk to him. Potts claimed that Stark would not listen to her. Stark reminded Stane that he was in charge of the company and demanded that Stane get rid of the weapons supply, leaving with Potts as Stane stood speechless.

He retrieved the suit of armor that Stark used to escape the Ten Rings and recreated them, making various tech suits as well as his own Iron Monger Armor.[1]

Attack on Stark Industries Headquarters[]

―Iron Monger[src]

Stane led his suits on an ambush at Stark Industries Headquarters. He accessed Tony Stark's communication lines and confirmed that the attack was happening, wanting to reclaim his assets. Stark called him crazy, telling Stane to give up. Stane refused, however, saying that he did what he had to in order to protect his Stark's father's company. Stark tried to claim that his father would not have gone along with it, but Stane said that it was simply business, which Stark's father understood. Stark tried to tell him that it did not need to be that way, but Stane said that he did as he neared the headquarters. He sent a second wave of tech suits to a research lab, then a third lab to the weapons testing facility. However, Stark defeated all of the waves, so Stane sent one more to the nitroglycerin tanks, but Stark destroyed the suits.[1]
