"Heartbreaker, help Red Snapper out, will you?"
Tony Stark[src]

The Iron Man Armor: Mark XXXV, codenamed Red Snapper, was Tony Stark's thirty-fifth Iron Man suit and was specialized to respond to situations caused by natural disasters. It was a part of the Iron Legion and was destroyed during the Battle on the Norco.

History[]

Red Snapper 1

The Red Snapper being torn apart by an Extremis Soldier

The Red Snapper Armor was made by Tony Stark after the Battle of New York. As part of the Iron Legion, the Red Snapper Armor was used by Stark and James Rhodes during their fight against Aldrich Killian and his Extremis Soldiers. During the battle, Red Snapper's faceplate was ripped off by the soldiers and it crashed into the side of the oil platform causing structural instability.[1]

Capabilities[]

The Red Snapper armor was made to save people during natural disasters; for example, rescuing victims trapped during an earthquake. The Red Snapper armor also has extendable and retractable claws which are very useful in an urgent crisis.[1]

Behind the Scenes[]

  • According to the Mark XXXV's designer Josh Nizzi, "The Red Snapper suit is stronger, larger, and more heavily armored than other suits—but lacks maneuverability, flight, and weapons. Unique to the Red Snapper are the powerful extendable claws that can reach out and crush just about anything. The repulsors mounted in the claws can create concentrated spheres of energy and then explode them."[2]
