The Mark XX Armor (codenamed Python) was Tony Stark's twentieth Iron Man suit and was specialized for long distance travel. It is part of the Iron Legion. It was destroyed by the Clean Slate Protocol activated by Tony Stark.
The Python Armor was called, along with the rest of the Iron Legion, to help Tony Stark and James Rhodes during their fight against Aldrich Killian and his Extremis Soldiers. During the course of the fight, a number of armors were destroyed, though they eventually managed to eliminate all of the Extremis Soldiers. At the end of the battle, the remaining suits that were not destroyed by Extremis Soldiers were destroyed when Stark activated the Clean Slate Protocol, including the Mark XX.
The Mark XX earned its name "Python", because of its ability to travel long distances, mimicking the ability of a python. This model has expanded energy reserves, which can be directed to flight systems. The result is a more energy efficient propulsion system, and consequently greater operation range than previous armors.
- The armor's gold and black color scheme makes it resemble the Iron Man Model 42 from the comics.
