Anthony Edward "Tony" Stark is the face of Stark Industries and a member of the superhero team the Avengers. While performing a weapons test, Stark was kidnapped by the terrorist organization the Ten Rings and forced to build a weapon of mass destruction for them. Disobeying his captors, Stark built himself a suit of armor, allowing himself to escape and emerging as the hero known as Iron Man.
