Natasha Romanoff to Steve Rogers[src]

Iran, also known as Persia, and officially the Islamic Republic of Iran, is a country in western Asia.

Madani Family

In 1979, Hamid Madani and his wife Farah left Iran and moved to New York City.[1]

Winter Soldier

"Somebody shot out my tires near Odessa. We lost control, went straight over a cliff. I pulled us out. But the Winter Soldier was there. I was covering my engineer, so he shot him... straight through me."
Natasha Romanoff to Steve Rogers[src]

Agent Natasha Romanoff was tasked by S.H.I.E.L.D. to escort engineer out of Iran. However, they was attacked by Winter Soldier near Odessa who managed to assassinate engineer.[2]

U.S. Senate Armed Forces Committee

Iran, along with other countries and organizations from all over the world, tried to develop a suit similar to the Iron Man Armors.

Tony Stark showed a video of some of the failed attempts to the Senate Armed Forces Committee, being the Iranian one of them, in order to prove that their excuse of the development of similar suits over the world was not an imminent threat that required handing over the Iron Man armor for military application.[3]

Black Market

"It's effective. Not very efficient. But it's a passable knock-off. I don't get it. A little fine tuning, you could have made a solid pay check. You could have sold it to North Korea, China, Iran. Or gone onto the black market. You look like you got friends in low places."
Tony Stark to Ivan Vanko[src]

According to Tony Stark, Iran could have been one of the potential purchasers of Ivan Vanko's Arc Reactor technology. Even although the technology has flaws, such as half of the rotations it could have, or an inefficient use as a channels of ionized plasma, the price would have been high.[3]

Jericho Bootleg

Iran was one of the potential buyers of missing bootleg Starktech from Hammer Industries that Russian arms dealers Mikhail Fjodorov and General Starodoub managed to obtain. They sent one of the members of their intelligence services under the identity of Mohammed Yavari, the owner of a series of Internet cafes in Tehran, to acquire that technology, a copy of the Jericho missile.

S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Natasha Romanoff attempts to acquire that technology managed to prevent the deal.[4]

The Mandarin

"I was able to pinpoint the Mandarin's broadcast signal."
"What are we talking? Far East, Europe, North Africa, Iran, Pakistan, Syria?"
J.A.R.V.I.S. and Tony Stark[src]

Iran, along with the Far East, Europe, North Africa, Pakistan and Syria, was one of the places guessed by Tony Stark to be the probable location of the Mandarin's broadcast signal when J.A.R.V.I.S. factored in available A.I.M. downlink facilities, until being informed by J.A.R.V.I.S. that the actual location was Miami, Florida.[5]
