The Infiltration into ABC Studios was a successful attempt by Alex Mind to steal the season finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on behalf of the Mastermind.
Background[]
Stan Lee was cloned, resulting in a man named Lan Stee.[1] Meanwhile, Marvel began developing a franchise known as the Marvel Cinematic Universe,[2] with one of its series being Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,[3] of which Stee was a fan. Growing impatient waiting for the series' season finale, Stee hired Alex Mind, to infiltrate the set and steal spoilers for the finale to leak online[4] in exchange for the car he used during the mission.[1]
Infiltration[]
First Day[]
Alex Mind trains with Ming-Na Wen
Alex Mind managed to get hired as a production assistant for the series and was brought to the studio where the series was being filmed. Mind received a S.H.I.E.L.D. Lanyard as a security badge[4] which would allow the security team to track him.[1] Mind went to Stage B, where he was met by stage hand Sam and series actress Ming-Na Wen, and the former asked Mind for help with her daily routine. Mind agreed, but Wen accidentally pushed him over. They did yoga together until Wen's towel boy arrived, and Mind used the excuse to leave.
Sam told Mind get Jed Whedon to go to rehearsal, so Mind found Whedon on set. He tried to look over Whedon's shoulder, but Whedon closed his laptop and left. Mind found a file revealing Vin-Tak and several storyboards, taking pictures and sending them to the Mastermind that hired him. Meanwhile, Dirk did a security sweep and entered the room, forcing Mind to hide from Dirk as he cleared the room.[4]
Props and Costumes[]
At the Mastermind's orders, Alex Mind set up a camera on set and went to the writers room. Mind tried to linger in the room as the writers discussed, but Sam pulled him out and told him never to bother the writers. Sam ordered Mind to deliver schedules to each department, so Mind started in the costumes department. Mind found a prop jacket for the character Lance Hunter and tried it on, but was caught by Ann Foley and Adrianne Palicki. Mind tried to get away with it by offering them schedules, but they each already had them. Foley reminded Mind to take off the jacket, which Mind did before leaving.
Alex Mind uses the props
Mind reached the props department and came across a prop of the Destroyer Armor Prototype Gun, showing off with it before he found a prop of the Diviner. He was approached by Scott Bauer, who warned him not to touch it due to union rules but agreed on his enjoyment of the prop. Mind laughed with him and was called Sam reminding him to pass out schedules. Mind found the art department and took pictures of concept art for Robert Gonzales' headquarters, but was caught by Dirk. Mind claimed to be getting to know the set, so Dirk told Mind to ask for help next time.[5]
Security Alert[]
Alex Mind found a writings on a wall on set and took a picture for the Mastermind and asked what it was. The Mastermind told Mind that the writings would be decoded and to increase his efforts. At lunch, Mind found scripts for Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man, but tossed them aside in favor of the script for the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode Melinda. Brett Dalton appeared and asked what Mind had, but Mind denied having anything. A security alert went off, leading Dirk to reveal that several spoilers had been leaked online and placing the building on lockdown until they can find the traitor.
Mind attempted to escape and briefly encountered Elizabeth Henstridge, before running into Sam and causing her to drop her bag. Security arrived to search Mind, but Dalton appeared and slipped the Melinda script into Sam's bag and handed it back to Sam. Dirk took the bag and found the script inside, leading her to get escorted off set and fired. Dalton whispered "Hail Hydra" into Mind's ear. The Mastermind then insisted to Mind that he would continue the mission, revealing that the writings did not mean anything.[3]
Caught[]
Sam was replaced by Alex Mind, with delivering lunches becoming part of Mind's job. The Mastermind told Mind to use the new position as an opportunity to break into Chris Cheramie's office and download the finale. He distracted Daniel Spilatro by not having his lunch and got into Cheramie's office, initiating the download. However, Dirk appeared and caught him, leading Dirk to realize that Mind was a traitor. Mind slammed the door and finished the download, leaving through the vent before Dirk could reopen the door. He fell out of the vent and ran through the studio, passing Chloe Bennet recording her automated dialogue under the direction of Cheramie and Robert Parigi.
Lan Stee retrieves the footage
Mind made it outside and got into a car as Dirk began chasing him, now with backup.[6] At the Mastermind's orders, Mind managed to lose his pursuers and reach the facility where the Mastermind was operating.[1]
Aftermath[]
Lan Stee greeted Alex Mind and began to upload the finale, but then realized that Mind was still wearing his security badge, which was traceable. Just then, Dirk and his team arrived to stop the upload to arrest them both. Clark Gregg appeared on Stee's monitor and thanked Dirk, believing Stee to be Stan Lee, so Stee explained that he was Lee's clone. Gregg attempted to convince Stee to simply wait for the finale, but Stee refused, so he and mind were arrested and brought to the Fridge. Realizing how popular Mind's efforts were, Gregg decided to release a sneak peak of the finale, releasing a clip of Jiaying claiming that Robert Gonzales had attacked her.[1]
