The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, also known as Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIL, is a jihadist militant group and unrecognized proto-state based in Mid-Eastern Asia.

Attack on Mosul[]

In 2015, ISIS took over Mosul and ransacked the Central Museum. Many artifacts, including an ancient scroll connected with one of the Monolith's first sites of study, were transferred to Tangier, Morocco at the headquarters of gangster Yusef Hadad.[1]
Acquiring Chitauri Weapons[]

In 2016, ISIS had commissioned a Chitauri shipment of weapons in Syria until they were ambushed by Captain America, Black Widow and Falcon.[2]
