Batch 92, referred to as Humanimals, were a race of anthropomorphic humanoid-animals created by High Evolutionary to populate Counter-Earth.

History[]

Replacing Halfworlders[]

Batch 92

High Evolutionary berates 89P13

The first 89 batches of High Evolutionary's subjects were known collectively as Halfworlders, with appearance assembling their original species, while High Evolutionary only saw Halfworlders as imperfect and sought to replace them by newer generations of anthropomorphic beings that resemble more closely to humans, but this evolution process was unsuccessful because the newly evolved beings are violent.

Taking 89P13's words about their hyptonic state, High Evolutionary was able to remove his experiment's rage to make them peaceful. Upon success, he made his way to 89P13, angry that he was able to figure it out despite High Evolutionary being the one to create him. High Evolutionary demonstrated the success to 89P13, who was happy that they would finally be able to go to the new world. However, High Evolutionary brutally told him that Batch 89 was never meant for that and they would be killed in the morning. Batch 92 was then transported to Counter-Earth.[1]

Inhabiting Counter-Earth[]

After the completion of Counter-Earth, the High Evolutionary released the Humanimals to live in the newly created utopia, where they would live in peace, yet, evil and crimes still occur, prompting High Evolutionary to plan for a restart.[1]

Extinction[]

With the Guardians of the Galaxy falling into High Evolutionary's trap, the High Evolutionary ordered the destruction of Counter-Earth in an attempt to both wipe out Humanimals and kill the Guardians who wanted to rescue 89P13. As the surface of Counter-Earth exploded, all Humanimals were killed, and the species became extinct. The last Humanimal alive was the Controller, who piloted Arête Laboratories before being killed after she betrayed High Evolutionary.[1]

Characteristic Traits[]

Humanimals had characteristics of different animals on Earth while sharing similar behavioural traits and some characteristics to humans. They were created from animals that included Vampire Bats, Giant Pandas, Mole Rats and Rabbits. Humanimals were seemingly more pacifistic and less aggressive than humans but were still capable of committing crimes and evil like humans, which prompted High Evolutionary to destroy their entire race and Counter Earth. They spoke Orbose, a language that was inaccessible to Translator Implants and which was taught to them by High Evolutionary.[2][3]

Notable Humanimals[]

Trivia[]

  • In the comics, the New Men are a race of artificially altered anthropomorphic beings created by the High Evolutionary, by evolving ordinary species, to live in Counter-Earth.
