Doctor Robert Bruce Banner, M.D., Ph.D., is a scientist who accidentally turned himself into the monstrous Hulk. He joined the Avengers, but eventually left the team, at one point visiting Thor while he lived in Australia. He refused to take part in a clash between various other members of the Avengers.
Biography[]
Lunch with Thor[]
As an Avenger, Bruce Banner helped save the world. However, he eventually left the team.[2] The New Zealand Documentary Board[3] filmed Bruce Banner as he met with Thor for coffee while Thor lived in Australia with Darryl Jacobson. Thor and Banner discussed what it was like for Banner wearing pants when he transforms into the Hulk, amusing Thor. Thor asked Banner whether he had been contacted by other members of the Avengers, which Banner said he had not. However, Tony Stark called Banner at that moment. Banner answered the phone, and Stark attempted to bribe Banner into joining his side of a clash between himself and Captain America. Banner refused the bribe, stating how he looked down upon their disagreement. Thor asked to talk to Stark, and Banner offered Stark the chance to talk to Thor, but Stark said he was not available, disappointing Thor. He asked Banner how to contact Thor, but Thor replied through Banner that he does not have an email. Thor suggested that Stark contact Thor via raven, but Banner did not relay the message.[2]

- Artificially Enhanced Physiology: Bruce Banner has the ability to turn himself into the monstrous Hulk, with a certain level of unpredictability. The transformation causes damage to Banner's pants, as Hulk is much bigger than Banner is. This is the result of Banner's self-subjection to the Project Gamma Pulse, which combined gamma radiation with an attempted recreation of the Super Soldier Serum. Hulk's powers made him a candidate to join the Avengers.
