- "Ladies and gentlemen, what if I told you that in just a few short years, your automobile won't even have to touch the ground at all? With Stark gravitic reversion technology, you'll be able to do just that."
- ―Howard Stark[src]
A Hovercar is a personal vehicle that flies at a constant altitude of up to few meters above the ground and used for personal transportation.
History[]
The first hovercar being displayed on stage
In 1943, Howard Stark presented a 1942 Cadillac[1] that had been turned into a hovercar at the World Exposition of Tomorrow. The audience was impressed, despite the failure of the prototype.[2] Four years later, the second hovercar was fully operational, and was used by Stark and his friends to close the portal that led to the Zero Matter Dimension.[3]
Many years later, Phil Coulson obtained a 1962 Chevrolet Corvette that he affectionately referred to as L.O.L.A. This vehicle was upgraded with technology based on the Stark Hovercar, allowing it to fly, amongst other things.[4]

Trivia[]
- In Marvel Comics, many S.H.I.E.L.D. agents drive hovercars that use very similar technology to Howard Stark's prototypes.
- These hovercars also provide the inspiration for L.O.L.A., Phil Coulson's hovercar.
