Multiverse Discovered
"He discovered that there were universes stacked on top of his own..."
The subject of this article comes from an alternate universe connecting to the main timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The name of this universe was chosen by the Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki following our Naming Policy. It is not an official name and was chosen in order to differentiate each universe in the ever growing Multiverse.

"The Horde. They came from the edge of the galaxy and blotted out the sun with their numbers."
Black Panther[src]

The "Horde-Infested Earth" Universe is a universe in which the Horde were successful in their invasion of Earth due to Wakanda's isolationist policies.

History[]

Wakanda's Isolationism[]

Theft of the Vibranium Ax[]

"A perfect hinge point that, if restored, could set everything right. And it all begins when a forgotten son of Wakanda finds that axe. It is his first step in a campaign to usurp the Wakandan throne."
Black Panther[src]

In the 1890s, Tafari and Kuda were sent on a mission to Ethiopia by Wakanda in order to recover a piece of Wakandan technology which had been fashioned into an axe. They successfully brought the axe back to the isolationist nation.[1]

Continued Policy[]

"Including my Quantum Scanner. In peaceful times, it was used to study history."
Black Panther[src]

Wakanda continued to live in isolation through the twenty-first century and into the twenty-fourth century. They eventually built a Quantum Scanner which would allow them to study history more closely and understand their past.[1]

Horde Invasion[]

Fall of Earth[]

"The nations of Earth united to fight them, except for the one nation who could have made the difference. Wakanda's laws dictate that we cannot help outsiders. So, the outsiders were left helpless."
Black Panther[src]

In the twenty-fourth century, the Horde came to Earth and began attacking with their superior numbers. Various countries on Earth united against the common enemy, with the exception of Wakanda due to its continued policy of isolationism. The rest of the world fell without Wakanda's help and superior technology, allowing the Horde to take over.[1]

Battle of Wakanda[]

"And when the Horde set their sights on us, even we were not powerful enough to resist. We fought back. But they still killed us all."
Black Panther[src]

The Horde attacked Wakanda last, although even Wakandan forces were not powerful enough to resist the Horde on their own. The Horde killed the majority of the population, leaving only the Queen and Black Panther alongside a small number of Dora Milaje, including their general, and destroying the Golden City. The Dora Milaje and Black Panther continued to fight the Horde, at one point confronting a single Horde beast in formation. The beast fired at the Dora Milaje, but the Black Panther jumped in front of them to protect them. She absorbed the blast with her Panther Habit and redirected the energy toward the beast. Although this took out the beast, it also caused the Black Panther to fall. The Dora Milaje worked to protect their Queen and themselves from the Horde, but were overpowered.[1]

Time Travel[]

"Every moment is a link in a chain of events. Each leading to the next. So we set out to find the link that led to our doomed future and break it."
Black Panther[src]

Falling back, Black Panther and surviving Dora Milaje went to Wakanda's Quantum Scanner. The Panther began searching through history and was outfitted with an armor that would allow her to search through time for a specific moment which could be altered to prevent the Horde's invasion from being successful. After years of searching, Black Panther discovered that if Tafari and Kuda had not recovered the Vibranium Ax from Ethiopia in the 1890s, then it would have been found by Erik Killmonger, whose revolution would result in Wakanda breaking its isolationist policy in 2016, allowing the Horde to be defeated. Uatu watched as Black Panther traveled back in time and confronted Kuda and Tafari, convincing them to return the axe to Ethiopia.[1]

Attack on the Quantum Scanner[]

"We cannot hold the Horde back without you. We have to close the passage to keep them out of that timeline."
"Then I must stay. And defend the passage. We cannot let the Horde invade their time, too."
Dora Milaje General and Black Panther[src]

Black Panther used up all the energy she could in the past and was ejected back into the twenty-fourth century, where she collapsed onto the ground and the Dora Milaje rushed to her aide. The Dora General asked if the past had been corrected, so the Black Panther explained that when she left, the Vibranium Ax was still with Tafari and Kuda and needed to be restored. Aware that it would likely kill her, Black Panther ordered another jump to the past to help Tafari and Kuda. However, the Horde followed the power draw from the Quantum Scanner and found the survivors, attacking the door.

The door burst open, prompting the Dora Milaje to create a forcefield around the laboratory with them inside. However, the Horde managed to get past the forcefield and began killing the Dora Milaje. Two Dora Milaje managed to defeat a Horde beast while the rest broke through the barrier. The Dora General rushed up to Black Panther and explained that going back in time would be hopeless, and that even if she could, the Dora Milaje would not survive without her. Realizing that the Horde could not be allowed to get to the Quantum Scanner, Black Panther decided to stay and fight, trusting Tafari and Kuda. Black Panther and the Dora Milaje fought the Horde, but all the Dora Milaje were killed, including the General. The last survivor, Black Panther, got thrown back toward the Quantum Scanner. Black Panther pushed up against the Horde beasts, physically holding them back as they pushed forward toward the Quantum Scanner, and the future realigned with Tafari and Kuda's universe as Tafari returned the Vibranium Ax, creating a future where the Horde were defeated.[1]
