"More and more eccentric superhumans are coming out of the woodwork. We just started a Superhuman Law Division, and I want you, well, the She-Hulk, to be the face of it."
―Holden Holliway to Jennifer Walters[src]

Holden Holliway is an attorney and named partner at Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway.

Biography[]

Defending a Client[]

"Since you saved the lives of the entire jury today, GLK&H argued that the jury was then biased in your favor."

Holliway Courthouse Attack

Holliway witnessing Jennifer Walters fight Titania in the courtroom

Holden Holliway and his employee defended their client at the Los Angeles Metropolitan Courthouse. When they finished with their statement, Holliway gave the opposition, Jennifer Walters, a look. Suddenly, Titania crashed through the courtroom. Surprisingly, Walters turned into a hulk and defeated Titania.[1]

The judges soon ruled Walters for the win, but Holliway filed for a mistrial, complaining that Walters saving the jury swayed their vote. He won this mistrial, inadvertently causing Walters to get fired.[2]

Hiring She-Hulk[]

Holliway offers Jennifer Walters a job

"I would like you to come work for us."
"You got me fired, and now you wanna hire me?"
"To be head of a new division, yes."
―Holden Holliway and Jennifer Walters[src]

Hearing that Jennifer Walters got fired, Holliway found and approached her in the bar. He asked for her attention, which he got and he offered her a job at Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway. He said how impressed he was with her closing argument, admitting that she would have won even without the outburst from Titania. She graciously accepted the job, so Holliway told her she would start Monday.[2]

Parole of Emil Blonsky[]

"There's a lot of controversy surrounding his possible release. This is extremely high profile. The publicity alone is worth GLK&H taking this on pro bono."
―Holden Holliway to She-Hulk[src]

Jennifer Walters arrived for her first day of work. Holliway greeted her, saying that they were starting a new division, which she would be the head of. He called it the Superhuman Law Division. He then told Walters that she would need to be in She-Hulk form all the time, which annoyed her, but she changed. Holliway walked her down the hallway before asking how she thought of it all. Walters called it agnostic.

Holliway's Office

Later, Holliway gave She-Hulk her first assignment, the parole of Emil Blonsky. Walters paused and said she had an immediate conflict of interest. The fact was, Blonsky tried to kill her cousin. Holliway told her that Blonsky knew that and signed a waiver. He told Walters that she would have to take this to have the job. He gave Walters a day to make the decision.

A few hours later, Holliway called Walters and left a voicemail, saying he was giving her until the end of the day. She-Hulk finally called him back. Holliway saw the phone call and noted that she finally called before picking up. She told him she was taking the case, which made Holliway very happy. However, he told her to check the news as there was new news about Blonsky. There was leaked footage of him somehow escaping prison months ago and fighting in an underground fighting ring.[2]

Holliway, Pug & Dennis

Holliway calls for She-Hulk to represent Dennis Bukowski

Later, Holliway asked Walters into his office to represent Dennis Bukowski, who was scammed by a shapeshifter named Runa. Bukowski and Walters had a history, so Bukowski wanted Augustus Pugliese instead of Walters. Suddenly, Wong arrived through an Inter-Dimensional Portal. Walters said she needed to talk with him, so Holliway let her leave. Holliway later walked by Walters office to see her dancing with Megan Thee Stallion. He turned away in confusion.[3]

Titania LLC Lawsuit[]

"And now, we find ourselves in the middle of a frivolous lawsuit. No one hires a firm that can't handle its own messes."
"I am going to fix this, sir."
"No, you won't."
―Holden Holliway and She-Hulk[src]

Holliway was driving to work when he saw a billboard for a She-Hulk brand. He called Walters into his room and ate peanuts as she came in. He told her that he saw a She-Hulk ad for a smoothie. Walters claimed it was not her, but Titania using her name. Holliway told her to get a hold of the situation because no one hires a firm that cannot get rid of their own problems.[4]

Eugene Patilio's Lawsuit[]

"Mr. Patilio is one of our biggest clients."
"The guy dressed as a frog?"
"Mr. Patilio, Sr. Look, it's very important that we keep the Patilios happy."
―Holden Holliway and She-Hulk[src]

Holliway was told by Eugene Patilio that he wanted to sue Luke Jacobson for making him a faulty suit. Holliway put She-Hulk on the job as she was the head of the Superhuman Law Division.

Walters once again had a conflict of interest as Jacobson was the only tailor who could create a suit that fit her physique. Holliway said that Patilio signed an agreement and she had to do it as his father was a huge contributor to the company. Holliway told Walters to go and talk to Jacobson if she did not want drama.[5]

Awards Gala[]

During the annual Southern California Law Awards Gala, She-Hulk had an outburst when the Intelligencia hijacked the gala, revealing Walters' private information and leaking footage of her having sex with Josh Miller. Enraged, She-Hulk smashed the display screen and set an alarm off, prompting the gala's attendees, including Holliway, to flee the scene.[5] As a result of She-Hulk's outburst and subsequent arrest, Holliway chose to fire her.[6]
