History[]

Using a Private Investigator[]
In order to finish jobs no one could deliver on, Jeri Hogarth hired Jessica Jones from Alias Investigations. While working for Hogarth, Jones was able to complete eight jobs. Since no one else was able to work as well as Jones, Hogarth ignored the complaints she received from people about the way Jones did her job and kept Jones' methods a secret. Hogarth eventually asked Jones to become the corporate investigator for her law firm, which Jones, being drunk, declined, saying that she preferred to be a freelancer.[1]

Recruiting Foggy Nelson[]
- "How does Hogarth, Chao, Benowitz & Nelson sound?"
"It sounds like a mouthful." - ―Jeri Hogarth and Foggy Nelson[src]
Over dinner in a luxury restaurant, Hogarth is seen with Foggy Nelson. She offers him a job with "competitive" salary and a personal assistant, a corner office, and the opportunity to branch out and build your own client base, as Marci recommends him very highly and she "would be foolish not to" invite a talent like him. She tells him that, his name can be part of the name of the company. They later discuss the vigilantes or "people with complexities" as she puts it.[2]
Representing the Defenders[]
- "The NYPD didn't file any report, so the city can't file any charges. According to the DA, it's over. Or more accurately, never happened."
"Uh, what about Claire?"
"Claire who? Hogarth, Benowitz & Chao at your service. I hope you'll think of us for all your legal needs." - ―Foggy Nelson and Luke Cage[src]
