"Hydra? I look like HYDRA to you? Take a look at Ron's suit. Guy's here 'cause he's got mouths to feed, not 'cause he worships a space octopus."

Alveus, also known as Hive, is an ancient Inhuman who was banished to a distant star system by people who grew fearful of his power. Many would still remain loyal to Hive, forming a cult with the intent to rescue him that would eventually become Hydra.

Biography[]

"I was actually supposed to die, too."
Nathaniel Malick to Kora[src]

Millennia ago, a human hunter was transformed into the first Inhuman, gaining immense strength and other powers. The Inhuman would later become known as Alveus, or Hive, due to his parasitic nature as a result of his Terrigenesis. Eventually, humans and Inhumans who feared Hive's growing power and influence would banish him to Maveth, a distant star system, where he would remain for thousands of years. However, a secret society of Hive's worshipers would be formed with the intent of bringing him back to Earth; the organization would come to be known as Hydra.[2]

While many HYDRA members, like Wilfred Malick, were committed to the return of Hive to Earth, others did not worship or believe in the existence of Hive, such as Ron, who joined the organisation simply to make a living. An alternate version of Nathaniel Malick, who in the original timeline was sacrificed for Hive,[3] ceased believing in the Inhuman after he discovered his intended death through the Time Stream. He would later use this fact when convincing Kora to join his cause.[4]
