Hela was among the people that attended the play performed by Prince Loki Laufeyson. Suddenly, another rift in reality began to open up, much to the horror of Hela and the people. While the people were making their escape, Hela was suddenly pulled by the rift, but Peggy Carter jumped up to save her. However, Peggy was too late to save Hela, who was sucked into the rift.[1]

After the rift closed, everyone assumed that the Rift killed Hela, thus deciding to crown Thor as their new king. However, even after being crowned king, Thor blamed Captain Carter for her failure to protect the queen and began a relentless chase for her.[1]
