In 1946, the Hefty Guard guarded the Zodiac at the Zodiac Storage Facility. He sat at the office of the warehouse with two other guards. The warehouse was approached by Peggy Carter and the Hefty Guard asked the other two guards to handle her while he read a newspaper and ate a burger. The guard did not notice that Carter swiftly took out his allies until one guard was kicked through the glass door to the building. He reached down to grab a gun, but by the time he looked back up, Carter had disappeared. He cautiously walked outside looking for the assailant until Carter snuck up behind him and put her gun to his head, demanding he drop his weapon.

The guard escorted Carter into the facility while held at gunpoint. She cuffed him to some pipes in the hallway and asked the guard how many men were in the facility. He answered four, including himself. Carter told the guard to scream for help, which he did, drawing out two more guards. Carter easily dispatched the two guards, and the Hefty Guard continued to scream for help until Carter told him to stop. He watched as Carter proceeded further into the facility to find the last guard and the Zodiac.

As Carter was leaving the facility with the Zodiac, she stopped by the Hefty Guard, frustratingly demanding he learn how to count, as there had been one more guard than he had informed her. The guard remained handcuffed to the pipes as Carter left the facility. ^[1]
