- ―Heather Glenn[src]

Glenn also began dating Matt Murdock, but their relationship was strained when Murdock became distant and fixated on the Fisks. Glenn was then made the Commissioner of Mental Health for Fisk's administration.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Friendship with Kirsten McDuffie[]
- "We go way back."
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah. I used to consult on some of her cases when she was at the District Attorney's office." - ―Heather Glenn and Matt Murdock[src]
Heather Glenn grew up in Queens, although she worked to remove her accent, and later in life became a therapist, working out of Tribeca. Glenn met and became good friends with Kirsten McDuffie. When McDuffie became Assistant District Attorney, Glenn would often assist her on some of her cases.[1]
Relationship with Matt Murdock[]
Tricked by Kirsten McDuffie[]

Glenn meets up with Matt Murdock
- "Yeah, she knows I don't date lawyers."
"Oh. Really?"
"Yeah, your hours suck and you argue everything." - ―Heather Glenn and Matt Murdock[src]
Glenn was told by her friend, Kirsten McDuffie, to meet with Matt Murdock, claiming that he was interested in therapy. Glenn met Murdock at Manhattanville Coffee, and after greeting each other, Murdock asked Glenn about what legal representation she needed.

Glenn gets along with Matt Murdock
Confused, Glenn told Murdock that she was going to ask what he needed from therapy. They both realized that they had been set up on a blind date by McDuffie. Glenn expressed that McDuffie knew that she did not date lawyers, and went to leave, but Murdock insisted that Glenn stayed. Murdock pointed out Glenn's Queens accent, which he was still able to detect, much to her surprise. Glenn then asked about where Murdock was from, which she learned was Hell's Kitchen. The two continued to talk and enjoyed each other's company.[1]
Going On a Date[]

Glenn and Matt Murdock walk together
- "You can't carry the weight of a city on your shoulders. New York will get by without you. She doesn't give a fuck, remember?"
"Doesn't sound like professional advice."
"That's, um, 'cause I'm not your therapist, Matt." - ―Heather Glenn and Matt Murdock[src]
Glenn and Matt Murdock organized to go on another date. After having dinner together, Glenn and Murdock walked back to her apartment, where Glenn remarked on the quality of their date.

Glenn and Matt Murdock kiss each other
Murdock overheard that Wilson Fisk had been elected mayor, which bothered him, so Glenn asked about his history with Fisk. Murdock answered that they had crossed paths in the past and that deep down, Fisk was a monster. A crowd of people celebrating passed by, causing Murdock to swing Glenn out of their way, taking her by surprise. Once they arrived, Glenn gave Murdock advice about not putting the burden of the city on himself. They then kissed each other before Glenn heading up to her apartment.[1]
Promoting Her Book[]

Glenn talks about her book to her readers
- "I've been thinking a lot about projected personas. How we present a curated version of ourselves, like through filters on social media or masks."
- ―Heather Glenn[src]
Glenn made an appearance at the Inkwell Gathering Space to discuss her book, Live Without Fear: A Guide to Confronting Trauma. Glenn was asked about her next project, so she revealed that she was interested in projected personas, namely people in masks. During the book signing, Glenn spoke with Bastian Cooper, who wanted to become her client, so she gave him her email. Glenn then signed a book for Buck Cashman.[2]
Dinner with Matt Murdock[]

Glenn on another date with Matt Murdock
- "Okay, so this fantasy of ours... What happens after the mai tais?"
"Oh, um, the possibilities are endless. Maybe, uh, later, I can give you a taste." - ―Matt Murdock and Heather Glenn[src]
Glenn went on another date with Matt Murdock, and over dinner they discussed a fantasy of them in Belize, drinking mai tais. Murdock asked what would happen next in their fantasy, so Glenn flirtatiously replied about giving Murdock a taste. Their date was interrupted when Cherry called Murdock, causing him to leave early.[2]
High-Profile Couples Therapy[]

Glenn cancels a date with Matt Murdock
- "So I usually like to start off with a couple of questions. What sparked you to come to therapy, and what would you like to get out of it?"
- ―Heather Glenn to Wilson Fisk and Vanessa Fisk[src]
Glenn was later approached again by Buck Cashman, who represented potential clients for Glenn to take on for couples therapy. Glenn decided to take on the clients, which required her to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Glenn called Matt Murdock to inform him that she would not be able to make their next date.

Glenn listens to Wilson and Vanessa Fisk
Cashman then introduced Glenn to her new clients, Mayor Wilson Fisk and his wife, Vanessa Fisk. Glenn started the session by asking what they were both looking to get out of therapy. Vanessa opened up about how she and Wilson ran a business together until Wilson left her for some time. Wilson explained that he had been assaulted by a vigilante and needed to recover on his own. Glenn listened to the couple talk about their troubles and asked insightful questions to evoke productive answers.[2]
Celebrating with Matt Murdock[]

Glenn sits in Matt Murdock's apartment
- "Well then, here's to a man who cooks, a well-won case, and Foggy Nelson. May God hold them all in the hollow of his hand."
- ―Heather Glenn[src]
Glenn was invited to Matt Murdock's apartment, where she was impressed to learn he could cook. Glenn commented on Murdock winning the White Tiger case, and he pulled out a bottle of O'Melveny's, explaining that he and Foggy Nelson broke it open whenever they won their cases. Glenn asked Murdock about Nelson, which he found hard to talk about. Glenn then toasted to Murdock's win and the memory of Nelson.[3]
Worrying about Vanessa Fisk[]

Glenn asks to discuss Vanessa Fisk's affair
- "Based on the nature of our discussion today, I feel obligated to ask... Do you feel safe in your marriage?"
"Oh... You think... How sweet of you. My husband is capable of many, many things, some of them extreme. Harming me is not one of them." - ―Heather Glenn and Vanessa Fisk[src]
In another session with Wilson and Vanessa Fisk, Glenn suggested that they finally talk about Vanessa's affair with Adam, although Wilson was uncomfortable with it. Glenn urged them to explore it, feeling it would help them make progress. Glenn had Vanessa talk about Adam and what drew her towards him, and she explained how when Wilson left her, she felt hurt.

Glenn asks Vanessa Fisk if she feels safe
When Glenn asked about ending the affair, she learned that Wilson confronted Adam, but kept the details vague, which concerned Glenn. To conclude their session, Glenn reminded her patients of her first question, which was whether they wanted to dissolve or preserve their marriage, and that there could be no healing without forgiveness. Glenn spoke with Vanessa privately to ask if she felt safe in her marriage. Vanessa answered that Wilson was not capable of harming her.[4]
Confessing Her Feelings[]

Glenn tells Matt Murdock that she worries
- "It's funny how I... When I'm not sleeping over, I don't worry about you. But you come home late one night and my mind is spinning. I mean, 'What if he fell into the subway tracks? Maybe somebody kidnapped him.'"
- ―Heather Glenn to Matt Murdock[src]
When Matt Murdock returned to his apartment late, Glenn greeted him and revealed that now that she stays over at his place, it has caused her to start worrying about him whenever he was out. Murdock apologized, explaining that he was having trouble with his job. Glenn listened to Murdock while unbuttoning his shirt. When asked about her day, she joked about having to kill Murdock if she told him about her clients. The two then went to bed together.[4]
Concern for Matt Murdock[]
Discussing Vigilantes[]

Glenn asks Matt Murdock about the robbery
- "What about a mask? Does it hide us and give us permission to do things that are legally and socially taboo, like violence? I mean, does a mask allow us to be our true selves, or does it strip away our identity and allow us to act like animals?"
- ―Heather Glenn to Matt Murdock[src]
One morning, Glenn found Matt Murdock praying and asked him if he was okay after being held hostage in a bank robbery. Glenn was surprised to hear Murdock answer that he was fine as he knew it would work out. Glenn told Murdock about her editor pushing her for her next book about vigilantes, which she felt Murdock could help with.

Glenn asks Matt Murdock about vigilantes
Glenn vocalized her fascination with vigilantes, wondering what it was about being a masked hero that inspired certain people. She also questioned whether it made them their true selves or stripped away their identity. Glenn brought up Murdock's experience representing vigilantes and asked if he could set up an interview with Punisher, which made Murdock laugh. Glenn then asked about Daredevil but had to leave, so she told Murdock they would discuss it later.[5]
Addressing Matt Murdock's Trauma[]

Glenn discovers bruises on Matt Murdock
- "I'm sorry to do this... but you have been tamping down trauma for so long... you can't even see when it's bubbling up inside of you and threatens to ruin everything good you have."
- ―Heather Glenn to Matt Murdock[src]
As Matt Murdock was in the shower, Glenn decided to join him, and she discovered bruises on Murdock's back. Glenn tried to ask about the bruises, but Murdock started kissing her, and the two passionately had sex. Afterwards, Glenn asked Murdock where he was last night, so he claimed he had to work. Glenn noted that he left his briefcase, and it did not explain the bruises.

Glenn talks about Matt Murdock's trauma
Glenn was worried that Murdock was putting himself in dangerous situations and possibly self-harming. Murdock told Glenn that he was dealing with things, and opened up about his life being different to what it was now, which felt fake. Glenn was hurt, and decided to inform Murdock of his trouble dealing with his trauma, which was hurting his life. Murdock stated that he was trying to fight it, but Glenn explained that it was a process. Murdock thanked Glenn and gently touched her face to see her.[6]
Attacked by Muse[]

Glenn in her session with Bastian Cooper
Glenn went to work, where she met with Bastian Cooper for a session. Cooper talked about a dream he had and his parents, before thanking Glenn for making him the artist he he become. Glenn sensed Cooper's instability and tried to move on, but he insisted that she listened to him.

Glenn realizes that Bastian Cooper is Muse
Cooper brought up his art that he had been displaying across New York City, and Glenn noticed that his nose started to bleed. Glenn witnessed as Cooper used his blood to paint a face. Glenn asked about the image, but Cooper responded that she had figured out that he was Muse. Realizing the danger she was in, Glenn began to cry, so Cooper rushed to her side, stating that there were no more secrets between them. Glenn attempted to run for the door, but Cooper grabbed her and slammed her against the wall.

Glenn desperately begs Muse to not kill her
Glenn was knocked unconscious, and when she awoke, she found Cooper sitting in front of her, now dressed as Muse. Glenn called Muse by his real name, but he demanded that she refer to him as Muse, angrily writing it on her arm. Muse confessed that he had obsessed over Glenn, as he felt she understood who he was. Muse tied a tourniquet around Glenn's arm before slowly cutting down her arm, drawing blood. Glenn begged Muse to stop and asked about whether he cared about the people he killed.

Glenn shoots Muse repeatedly in the chest
Sirens were heard outside, so Muse laid out a cloth on the ground. Glenn stalled Muse by insulting his mask and calling him a coward. Muse stood Glenn up, but she headbutted him and reached for his gun. Muse slammed Glenn to the ground and began choking her to death. Daredevil crashed through the window, stopping Glenn from being killed. As Daredevil fought Muse, Glenn picked up the gun and shot Muse, killing him. Glenn then collapsed from blood loss, but was stabilized by Daredevil.

Glenn was found by the Anti-Vigilante Task Force, who got her to a hospital, where her injuries were treated. When Glenn woke up, she saw Matt Murdock sitting by her bed, and he informed her that she was able to go home in the morning. Glenn mentioned that she killed Muse, which Murdock replied that she had no choice. Glenn then revealed that Daredevil saved her, and that he said her name, but she wasn't sure. Glenn turned on the news, which reported Muse's death, and Glenn cried over the events.[6]
Receiving an Invitation[]

- "'Cause he's trying to co-opt your story. He wants to use your trauma to boost his narrative."
"If his narrative is that vigilantes are dangerous, then he's got my vote." - ―Matt Murdock and Heather Glenn[src]
Back at Matt Murdock's apartment, Glenn was still shaken by her encounter with Muse, unable to get over killing him. Glenn discussed the violence within Daredevil and Muse, which transferred to her, and felt that the two masked individuals were similar. Murdock argued that Muse and Daredevil were different, as Daredevil saved her, but Glenn insisted that she saved herself.

Glenn and Matt Murdock argue Wilson Fisk
Buck Cashman arrived at the apartment to deliver an invitation to Glenn from Wilson Fisk to attend his Black & White Ball. Cashman also passed on Fisk's admiration for her survival against Muse. When Cashman left, Murdock deduced that Fisk was a client of Glenn's, which concerned him. Murdock stated that Glenn should not go to the Ball as Fisk was trying to use her to sell his narrative against vigilantes, which Glenn had no issue with. Glenn asked Murdock to come, which he did not think was a good idea, but she informed him she was allowed a guest.[7]
Black & White Ball[]

Glenn is unable to contact Matt Murdock
- "I don't expect you to understand, but I need you to know, he sought you out to get to me. To keep tabs on me."
"Matt, you're starting to worry me on a professional level. Why would he do that?" - ―Matt Murdock and Heather Glenn[src]
Later that night, Glenn attended the Black & White Ball alone. Glenn rang Matt Murdock, although she had not been able to get in contact with him all day, so she left a message saying that she wished he had let her know he was not coming. Glenn was found by Vanessa Fisk, who thanked Glenn for helping her and Wilson Fisk's marriage and informed her that they would no longer need counseling.

Glenn calls out Matt Murdock's behavior
As the night continued, Glenn found Murdock, who revealed that he had visited Bullseye at Rikers Island. Glenn questioned Murdock's choice, but decided to drop it, annoyed at how much Murdock had been checked out with her lately. Murdock apologized, but Glenn caught him for not listening to what she was saying to him. Glenn brought up Murdock's issue with Wilson, so he began telling Glenn that Wilson was using her to get to him, which concerned and confused her.

Glenn is further worried by Matt Murdock
Murdock went to confront Wilson, despite Glenn's protests, repeating her own words to her about knowing when to act out. Murdock was stopped when Wilson and Vanessa went to have the first dance, leaving Glenn and Murdock to watch. Glenn wanted to leave, but Murdock stated that Wilson would not let her, which only further confused her. Murdock reiterated that Wilson was a monster and that he would explain everything to her later. Murdock danced with Glenn and told her to call Kirsten McDuffie or Cherry if anything happened and make sure they knew something was wrong.

Glenn rushes to a shot Matt Murdock's side
Murdock's behavior only made Glenn more worried for him, and she watched as he then moved in and began dancing with Vanessa. Glenn was left with Wilson, who she expressed her worry to about her boyfriend. As Glenn started dancing with Wilson, he mentioned Murdock's association with vigilantes. Suddenly, Murdock moved in front of Wilson and was shot, so Glenn cried out in horror as Murdock fell to the floor. Glenn rushed to Murdock's side and held his hand as everyone around them fled.[7]

Glenn with Matt Murdock in the hospital
Glenn stayed with Murdock as he was rushed to the hospital, where he was stabilized. McDuffie joined Glenn as she sat by Murdock's bed until he regained consciousness. Glenn went to Murdock, who thought she was Karen Page, which hurt her. Glenn listened to Murdock explain that Vanessa had Foggy Nelson killed. Glenn continued to be concerned by Murdock as he attempted to convince her of how dangerous Wilson was. Glenn decided to leave Murdock and come back when he was rested.[8]
