Harvest is the fifth episode of the first season of Secret Invasion.
Synopsis[]
Fury gathers his allies. Gravik deals with unrest.
Plot[]
Nick Fury brings an unconscious President Ritson to the hospital, following the attempt on his life and Talos' death, trying to warn him not to trust "James Rhodes".
Gravik and the rest of the Skrull Resistance return to New Skrullos, where he gathers other Resistance members and comments on their failed mission. He mentions that if Pagon was able to acquire the Harvest, it would not be a problem. Pagon is frustrated, and chews out Gravik for refraining from killing Fury, who never told Gravik the Harvest's location, questioning if the Resistance should trust him as well. Gravik kills Pagon for getting out of line, before berating other Resistance members and ordering a hit on Varra.
Gravik then contacts Raava and calls off another attack on Ritson, instead ordering her to tell him about Skrulls and convince him that they work with Russia, revealing the location of New Skrullos. He intends to use it as leverage on Fury, who would not want a full-scale war and the death of innocent Skrulls. Fury confronts Raava at the hospital, but she tells him that if he does not let her go, the footage of Fury killing Maria Hill will be sent to the mass media. Fury lets Raava go and warns her that he is coming for Gravik, but Raava replies that Fury should tell him personally.
In London, Derrik Weatherby watches a news report on Fury killing Hill and his involvement with the ambush on President Ritson. He gets visited by Sonya Falsworth who points a gun at him and demands he tell her where to find Rosa Dalton. She then shoots Weatherby and as the other MI6 agents arrive, they realize that "Weatherby" was actually a Skrull. Falsworth threatens "Weatherby" with death, forcing him to tell her what he knows about Dalton and where to find her.
Back at New Skrullos, Gravik gets approached by Beto, but then receives a call from Raava who updates him on Ritson's condition. As soon as he hangs up, several Skrulls, including Beto and Zirksu, rebel against Gravik and attempt to kill him. Gravik overpowers them and drags Beto out, yelling at the remaining Skrulls and asking who else wants to challenge him. Beto calls Gravik a monster, to which he slits Beto's throat open, and deposits his body in front of the others present as a message.
Fury meets with G'iah in London, at the same place where he once made a promise to the Skrull refugees. Fury tells G'iah that Talos is dead, claiming that his fight was not meaningless and he chose a path of struggle on his own will. They discuss Gravik's Super-Skrull experiments and G'iah tells him that Gravik stole the DNA of Cull Obsidian and Groot, but only because he could not find what he wanted in the first place, the Harvest. Fury is troubled by that revelation but has to retreat as the police arrive.
Falsworth and her men arrive at the Dalton Residence and confront "Rosa" and "Victor Dalton" on their research of the Super-Skrull Machine. Once Falsworth finds out what she needed, she orders her agents to burn down the laboratory. "Victor" frees himself and takes "Rosa" as her hostage, claiming that he will not let anyone to betray Gravik. Unamused, Falsworth kills "Victor" with a headshot, leaving only "Rosa" alive.
As Ritson wakes up, Raava tells him that the attack on him was orchestrated by Skrulls, who were working with the Russians. She shows Ritson a satellite image of New Skrullos, saying that the United States must neutralize the facility to stop the upcoming invasion. Ritson says that bombing on Russian soil would mean war, to which Raava replies that war is preferable to extinction. Gravik contacts Fury and tells him about his leverage, demanding he bring the Harvest. Rick Mason helps Fury to get to Finland, providing him with the fake passports, now that Interpol issued a red notice on him.
As Fury advised her, G'iah takes Talos' body to Varra's house, asking her to help with the funeral. As G'iah and Varra finish the funeral, the Resistance attacks in an attempt to assassinate Varra, but she and G'iah successfully fight them off.
Fury arrives in Finland, where he is joined by Falsworth, and he reveals that Gravik is planning to have New Skrulls bombed with all the innocent Skrulls and trapped humans. She asks why would he threaten his own people, to which Fury says that Gravik wants him the Harvest, a collection of the Avengers' DNA, sampled after the Battle of Earth. Fury collects the Harvest from one of his gravesite storages and confirms Falsworth's suspicions that he is planning to give it away. He then acquires his eyepatch and the weapons, before taking off for the last stand against Gravik.
