Habrok Hawks are a species of hawk native to Asgard.

History[]

Habrok Hawks could be found in the lush forests of Asgard.[1]

As part of the Virtue Challenge, participants were required to steal an egg from the nest of a Habrok Hawk.

In 1521, Loki, Thor, and Sif entered a Virtue Challenge against Brunok, Siegrold, and Hilda, who were later joined by the Warriors Three for fun. Fandral tried to steal an egg on the Warriors' behalf while Hogun distracted the Habrok Hawk, but both warriors and the egg fell on top of Volstagg, causing it to break. Thor, Loki, and Sif then arrived, and Sif managed to retrieve two eggs, one of which she would give to the Warriors Three. Brunok, Siegrold, and Hilda later tried to steal an egg for themselves, but Siegrold was too afraid of heights, so Brunok retrieved it instead.

The Warriors' egg would later break in their bag, and Sif's egg broke when she discovered that Loki had retrieved the Cup of Glory.[2]

Characteristic Traits[]

Habrok Hawks look similar to Earth hawks. They are brown in color with yellow beaks and bronze-colored feet and talons. They were known to get easily distracted, with the attention of one hawk being driven away from its own eggs by both Hogun and a second illusion of a hawk set by Loki.

Trivia[]

  • In Norse mythology, Hábrók was stated to be "the best of hawks" in a list of "the best" of other things in the mythological poem known as the Grímnismál.
  • Despite only appearing in "Inspired Canon" media, the Habrok Hawks were mentioned in Marvel Studios Visual Dictionary.
