Guy Pennyman III went to the World's Columbian Exposition and attended Victor Timely's show. Before Timely started, Pennyman got a drink at the bar. During the presentation, Timely demonstrated his prototype Temporal Loom, which suddenly became popular among the crowd. Pennyman approached Timely, announcing his desire to have the loom. Timely loudly declared that he was accepting bids, and Pennyman entered a bidding war with a Robber Baron. Timely accepted the Robber Baron's offer, so Pennyman walked away and returned to the bar. Timely then gave Pennyman some of the money and walked away.[1]
