Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off! is entertainment at Avengers Campus and Stark Expo.
Synopsis[]
Star-Lord and Gamora power up a rousing dance party, backed by rock-and-roll classics from Peter Quill’s boom box.
Plot[]
Peter Quill and Gamora break into the Collector's collection in order to retrieve something of Quill's. They distract two guards by claiming that the Collector wants them to observe still poles and retrieve the item, which Gamora is frustrated to learn was Quill's boom box. Quill plays "Come and Get Your Love" on the boom box, further annoying Gamora.
Gamora pushes Quill to leave, but they hear a noise as they suddenly realize that they were detected by thermal sensors which would allow the Collector to track them anywhere on Earth. Quill and Gamora call to the Terrans which they noticed watching and introduce themselves as members of the Guardians of the Galaxy. They explain that they have to return to their ship and explain that the sensors track them by movement and body heat. In order to create a lot of heat and scramble the sensors, giving Quill the idea to have the humans all dance.
He puts on "ABC" and encourages the humans to dance, including the two guards he distracted before. He tries to get Gamora to dance, but she refuses. He dances with a few humans and checks the sensors, encouraging the rest to dance. He finally convinces Gamora to dance half-heartedly, but turns off the music as they hear the same noise. Rocket Raccoon calls out to Quill from the ship, asking what is taking so long. Quill tells Rocket his plan, but Rocket says that the simply have to overload the sensors to shut them down, demanding them back to the ship.
Quill decides that the best way to overload the sensors is with a dance off, getting excited before his boom box accidentally plays "Father and Son," making Quill sad as the song is about the relationship between fathers and sons. Gamora teases Quill about it before changing the song to "Shake Your Groove Thing." He pulls two humans up for a dance off, pointing back and forth between them. Quill invites the rest of the Terrans to dance along as Gamora plays a new song. Quill checks the sensors, and they need one more person dancing to overload the sensors, so Gamora finally starts dancing.
The sensors are overloaded and destroyed, and Quill compliments the dancing of the Terrans around him. Quill flirts with Gamora before Rocket radios back. Rocket says that he is growing impatient, so Quill and Gamora prepare to leave. They play one more song for the humans, making the group promise to dance as they leave, and return to their ship.
