"He was green."

The Green Goblin Armor is a specialized armor used by Norman Osborn while operating as Green Goblin.

History[]

Battle at the Alexander Hamilton Bridge[]

After Norman Osborn became Green Goblin, he donned the armor along with a monster-like green mask. Due to Doctor Strange's spell going wrong, Green Goblin was transported to another universe. He later ambushed that universe's Spider-Man on the Alexander Hamilton Bridge, where he had just defeated Doctor Octopus, who was from his universe as well. However, the two of them were teleported to the Sanctum Sanctorum before Green Goblin could attack them.[1]

Osborn later retook control of his mind from his Green Goblin alter and tried to escape from him by abandoning his equipment, including the armor. However, Osborn became scared when Green Goblin taunted him and then tried to retake control of his mind once more. Although, in an act of rejection of his Green Goblin persona, Osborn smashed his mask into pieces and ran off while still wearing his armor.

After he took refuge at the F.E.A.S.T. Community Center, Osborn was given a purple hoodie, sweatpants, and a green flannel coat to wear over his armor by May Parker. Osborn also took off his gloves and continued to wear the clothes over his armor when he arrived in the New York Sanctum and when he was transported to Happy Hogan's Condominium to help this universe Peter Parker cure the group of villains, including his friend Otto Octavius and himself.[1]

However, Green Goblin retook control of Osborn and fought with Spider-Man, as he took off the flannel coat. Unfortunately, Green Goblin and Spider-Man's fight caused the clothes to become heavily damaged, revealing the armor underneath.[1]

Battle at Liberty Island[]

Green Goblin later arrived at the Statue of Liberty wearing the armor and gloves, adding a gauntlet on his left wrist, a satchel for his bombs and goggles to protect his eyes while flying on his glider. He removed his goggles before his final showdown with Spider-Man and used his gauntlet to slice Spider-Man until said gauntlet was broken off by the latter.[1]

Capabilities[]

  • Enhanced Durability: The armor was created from strong metal. It is exceptionally durable, being able to even withstand blows from Spider-Man and collateral damages Green Goblin committed in the apartment battle. However, it did have his limits, as the Goblin Glider was capable of impaling through it.
  • Blade Gauntlet: The upgraded armor was given a gauntlet which was equipped with a retractable blade.
  • Satchel: The upgraded armor has a satchel Green Goblin used to store his Pumpkin Bombs and knife.
  • Goblin Glider control: The armor can allow Green Goblin to control his Goblin Glider remotely.

Trivia[]

  • Green Goblin's final outfit, with his damaged clothes, satchel and goggles, bore an accurate similarity to Green Goblin in the comics.
