"He discovered that there were universes stacked on top of his own..."
The subject of this article comes from an alternate universe connecting to the main timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This universe is designated as Destroyed Earth Universe.

Glenn Talbot was an ally of S.H.I.E.L.D. who infused himself with Gravitonium and went mad with power, taking the name Graviton. As he sought out more Gravitonium to increase his powers, Talbot was confronted by Quake, only for Talbot to absorb her inside his body, allowing him to take her Inhuman powers. However, this power proved too strong and Talbot inadvertently caused an earthquake strong enough to crack the Earth in half, killing billions of people as a result, which had included Talbot.

Biography[]

This is an in-depth biography of Graviton/Destroyed Earth. For an abridged overview, see Marvel Database's article on the same character.

Seeking Power[]

Destruction of Earth[]

Following an invasion of the Remorath onto the Earth, Talbot had sought to protect humanity by absorbing Gravitonium in his body, gaining incredible power as a result. However, this also resulted in Talbot losing his sanity, as he conquered the Remorath and sought to gain more Gravitonium, having learnt of an incoming invasion from Thanos. Eventually, Talbot was confronted by S.H.I.E.L.D. as Quake was sent to defeat him, only for Talbot to then absorb Quake and subsequently used her powers to help him mine more Gravitonium, creating an earthquake that measured 12.8 on the Richter scale.[4] In the process, Earth was split in half and destroyed, killing much of humanity and leaving the remains of the surface an uninhabitable wasteland.[7]

Legacy[]

Kree Takeover[]

With Earth destroyed and all the surviving Humans left clinging for life, this enabled the Kree to enslave these survivors.[7] Due to poor retention of historical records - a combination of a significant amount not surviving the cataclysm and the Kree erasing much of what had survived - Talbot's name was lost to history, leaving Quake to be scapegoated for the cataclysm, known as the Destroyer of Worlds due to the incident.[8]

Powers[]

  • Artificially Enhanced Physiology: Glenn Talbot infused himself with Gravitonium, granting him a variety of enhanced attributes. These attributes eventually destroyed Earth, with the public believing Quake was responsible.
    • Gravity Manipulation: Talbot had the ability to manipulate gravity, which he used to unearth Gravitonium and fight Quake.
    • Gravitonium Detection: Talbot sought Gravitonium and was able to sense a pocket of it underground in Chicago.
    • Absorption: Talbot absorbed Gravitonium as part of Project Destroyer of Worlds, and was able to absorb more Gravitonium. Talbot's attempt to absorb gravitonium led to the destruction of Earth when he absorbed Quake and then used her power.
      • Power Augmentation: In addition to absorbing more Gravitonium into his body to augment his powers, Talbot was also able to obtain the powers of anybody Inhuman he absorbed.
      • Vibration Manipulation: Upon absorbing Quake, Talbot obtained her ability to sense and manipulate the vibrational frequencies in the environment. As a result of his Gravitonium enhancement, sheer recklessness, or a combination of both, Talbot was capable of far greater feats than Quake, already a powerful Inhuman, ever achieved; in using her powers to mine the Earth for Gravitonium deposits, he managed to create catastrophic earthquakes strong enough to tear the Earth apart.

Equipment[]

  • Gravitonium: Talbot stole Gravitonium and absorbed it into himself, resulting in the destruction of Earth.
