The Golden Dagger is an ancient, Sumerian dagger that was originally stone before being turned into gold by Sersi.

History

Having arrived on Earth, the Eternals faced Humans, who were in awe at what they were looking at. Sersi then walked up to a scared child who had just lost his father. She bent down and grabbed a stone dagger, using her powers to transform it into a golden dagger. She then gave it to the kid. This dagger shaped history for centuries until it was given to the Natural History Museum as an artifact.

In 2024, Sersi saw the dagger on a billboard labeled as an "artifact(s) that shaped human history". She then took a photo, attempting to put it through Instagram filters.

Fake Dagger

"Told you. It's man‐made. It's also fake. It's a copy of an original Sumerian dagger that was kept in the Iraq Museum. Stolen during the looting after the invasion of Baghdad in 2003."

A copy of the dagger was kept in an Iraq museum until it was stolen in 2003 during an invasion of Baghdad. The fake eventually found its way to Caretaker.

• In ancient history, the golden dagger is believed to have belonged to the Sumerian Queen Pu-Abi, who carried it on her eternal journey through the afterlife.
