Gene Hernandez was a recreation of the real Gene Hernandez inside the Dark Dimension, acting as a member of the Church of Gibborim along with his wife Alice.
Biography
Molly Hernandez's Nightmare

Gene was manifested in the Dark Dimension as a result of the arrival of Molly Hernandez in this realm. He and his wife Alice expressed joy when Molly arrived in a recreation of their former house. However, due to the date when Molly's parents had been killed, Gene and Alice still considered her to be a little girl. Gene and Alice then pressed Molly to finish her meal so that they could go do some charity work at the Church of Gibborim.
At the Church of Gibborim, Gene and Alice served drinks to a large group of teenagers, and review the intake form filed by one of them, indicating that she had no close family. Gene and Alice thus instructed a church employee to direct her to Leslie Dean, causing Molly to understand that they were choosing the next sacrifice victim. Gene complimented Molly and stated that he and Alice were proud to work for Jonah.
As the other teenagers turned out to have been poisoned by the drink, Gene and Alice tried to persuade Molly to drink some as well, but she fled, breaking through a door window to escape. Moments afterwards, Gene, Alice, and all the deceased teenagers had vanished.[1]
