Private Gabriel "Gabe" Jones was a soldier in the 92nd Infantry Division who was captured by HYDRA and rescued by Captain Carter. He fought alongside Carter and the Howling Commandos through World War II and helped rescue Steve Rogers from captivity at Castle de Krake.

World War II[]
Captured and Freed[]
During World War II, Jones and several other members of the 107th Infantry Regiment were captured by HYDRA and imprisoned in HYDRA Base Camp C3. However, they were released from their cell by Captain Carter, enabling Jones to fight his way out of the facility. He was aided by Carter and later Steve Rogers in his HYDRA Stomper armor.
Stopping Red Skull[]
Jones later joined the Howling Commandos to fight the war at Captain Carter's side. He agreed to take part in a mission at the Castle de Krake, during which he faced many HYDRA soldiers. Jones and his group were thus able to retrieve Steve Rogers and the HYDRA Stomper armor, as they had both been lost during a previous operation. He then witnessed Red Skull's summoning of the Champion of HYDRA through a wormhole and was incapacitated by its scream before being evacuated by Rogers.[1]
