Biography[]
Escape Attempt[]
- "If they catch us, they're gonna gut us like fish."
- ―Frank Morris to John and Clarence Anglin[src]
Frank Morris was arrested and sent to Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary, where he became acquainted with Clarence and John Anglin. In 1962, the three of them planned an escape attempt in which they would create body doubles of themselves to put in their beds and leave their room via the ventilation ducts. Morris hid under his bed while the guards checked that he was sleeping. Once the guard had passed, he left through the duct and joined Clarence and John in a utility corridor. Clarence and John ensured that they had everything, but Morris shushed them.
Once they reached the outside of the prison, they brought a boat to shore together. Suddenly, a strange person appeared and started talking to Morris, calling him Casey. Morris asked who Loki was, but Loki insisted they knew him. Morris asked if he was meant to provide the boat and said that he was in the wrong place. The stranger did not know about the boat, so Morris asked how he got to Alcatraz Island. The stranger said he did not know, and the Anglins asked why the stranger called him "Casey" when he claimed his name was Frank. Morris insisted Frank was his name and that he did not know the stranger, and the three resumed their escape attempt as Morris told him to find his own way to escape. However, the stranger suddenly disappeared, confusing the partners before they resumed their escape.[2]
Recruited by Loki[]
Morris, John Anglin, and Clarence Anglin successfully reached the shore of mainland California as the sun rose. Morris staggered while the Anglin brothers laughed. Morris caught his breath and looked to the sun when Loki appeared and recruited him to help save the Time Variance Authority. Morris went to A.D. Doug's workshop and stole one of his supplies while Loki looked around at the crew he had gathered.
Don introduced himself and asked if the room was safe, so Doug noted that the area was abandoned. Loki left to get the last person they needed, and Morris wondered how long he would be, claiming to have a time-sensitive matter to return to. However, Doug explained that his TemPad would be able to return them to the moment they left, causing Morris to realize they could use it to get anywhere, including a bank vault. Morris went to borrow the TemPad, but Loki returned and told him not to bother and that they should return to their homes. Don asked for clarification, but Loki simply told everyone to return to their lives. Morris asked if he needed to return to exactly where he was, but Loki did not answer.
Sylvie Laufeydottir arrived, and Loki realized that they had everyone they needed there. Doug prepared to scan everyone's Temporal Auras, but realized that his TemPad was missing. Loki and Doug confronted Morris, believing him to have stolen the TemPad, which Morris denied. Morris suddenly fell apart as the universe around him was destroyed.[2]
Loki's Revelation[]
Loki time slipped back to Sylvie Laufeydottir's arrival. Morris watched as Loki explained that he could control his time slipping and time slipped back to the Time Variance Authority.[2]
Personality[]
Morris is a confident man whose abilities led him to be able to successfully escape Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary. He, John Anglin, and Clarence Anglin made a successful and creative plan that gave them the chance to escape. He can also be coldhearted, as he was unwilling to allow someone he believed to be a fellow prisoner escape with him and his friends.
Morris also has a tendency to steal things. One of the first things he did upon arriving in A.D. Doug's workshop was steal one of Doug's pieces of equipment. Furthermore, his first thought upon learning the TemPad's capabilities was to use it to rob banks.
