A Flash Bomb, also known as a Strobe Disc, is a device that delivers a blinding flash of light into a room. They are utilized by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents with the purpose of blinding and disorienting targets allowing for precision strikes with minimal resistance.

Activation of the Flash Bomb
Black Widow used two flash bombs against the guards at the Hammer Industries Headquarters when she raided the facility attempting to apprehend Ivan Vanko.[2]
Another bomb was utilized by Coulson's Team in the sting operation to apprehend the international criminal T. Vanchat during an illegal transaction to sell Chitauri metal to Emily Deville.[3]
Another one was used when Coulson's Team raided a compound known only as the Guest House to neutralize one of the security guards.[4]
Capabilities[]
The flash bomb is a small disk bearing the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo that emits a powerful burst of light. It can be set to operate on a countdown, with the countdown being displayed as blue lights on the edge of the disk's face. The disc can emit a blinding flash of over 800 lumens.
