Being coerced by Felix Manning, Shelby Wilson Fisk behind computers at the Presidential Hotel, unable to leave on her own due to the Ankle Monitor she had to wear. As Fisk entered the observation room, he ordered Shelby to show him the footage from cameras in the FBI agents' room, which had Wellers and Doyle complaining about having to monitor Fisk instead of investigating the incident at New York Bulletin. Shelby then displayed news broadcasts on the screens, as various networks reported about the attack on New York Bulletin, supposedly perpatrated by Daredevil, who murdered multiple people in the building.[1]
Approached by Daredevil[]
While Wilson Fisk left Presidential Hotel with the FBI agents who worked for him, Shelby remained in the room before the lights went out which scared her. Shaking in distress, Shelby was approached by someone and without turning to him, she questioned if he come to kill her. When the visitor replied that she was not his target, Shelby realized that he came after Fisk and signed in relief, after turning around and seeing Daredevil. Shelby said that Fisk will be back in several minutes before the lights went back on and Daredevil thanked her, before heading out to ambush him. However, he then heard from the agents via Shelby's computers that they found Karen Page at Clinton Church and wanted to keep the NYPD away from the area.[2]
Daredevil questioned what Fisk wanted from Page and Shelby informed him that Fisk wanted her killed, much to Daredevil's horror. Shelby then saw through the cameras that the car with Fisk returned to the hotel and told Daredevil that there were no cameras in the bedroom, which meant that he could take Fisk out without being witnessed. Nervous, Daredevil asked Shelby how long will it take for Fisk to go upstairs to his quarters, and although she said it would take seconds, Daredevil was still very nervous. Shelby said that if he leaves, she would have no choice but to tell him that he was there, and Fisk will triple security, so Daredevil would not be able to enter the quarters again. Although realizing that he would not have another chance like this, Daredevil ultimately chose to save Page and left Shelby.[3]
Fisk's Downfall[]
Shelby and Felix Manning see Vanessa Marianna
Shelby was ordered by Felix Manning to tap into the surveillance cameras at the Nadeem Residence, before both of them witnessed Wilson Fisk and Vanessa Marianna entering the room. Observing the footage with Nadeem, Marianna decided that he was too dangerous and advised Fisk to send Benjamin Poindexter to eliminate the threat.[4]
Later, during the wedding of Fisk and Marianna, Shelby was present at the observation room with Johnson and O'Connor. As the wedding went south because of Poindexter trying to kill Fisk, Daredevil suddenly broke into the room and beat down Johnson and O'Connor, as Shelby was surprised that he actually came back. Daredevil remarked that the NYPD unit was on their way to Fisk's quarters and asked Shelby to shut down the elevators. When Shelby asked why, he simply replied so nobody could stop him, before leaving Shelby to disable the elevators and hindering the police's movements.[5]
Abilities[]
- Expert Hacker: Shelby was a formidable hacker whose skills were noticed by Kingpin, causing her to be coerced by him. Throughout her time with Fisk, she would do things like show him security footage, give him updates and whatever else he needed her to do. She also hacked into security cameras at the Nadeem Residence notably.
