Wonsik was an undercover HYDRA operative who worked within the agency S.H.I.E.L.D.. While Captain America was speaking about HYDRA's infiltration on S.H.I.E.L.D., Wonsik and the other operatives began to attack S.H.I.E.L.D.

Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.[]
Being an operative for HYDRA, Wonsik was among a number of sleepers that infiltrate S.H.I.E.L.D. to strike from the inside at the right time. Following the direct orders from Alexander Pierce, Wonsik and every sleeper would ensure that HYDRA's infiltration within S.H.I.E.L.D. went completely unnoticed, which had then allowed them to move forward with all their plans of world domination.[1]
Project Insight[]
Battle at the Triskelion[]
Wonsik was stationed at the Triskelion until he and all the sleepers were suddenly alerted to the return of Captain America when he had gone onto their speaker-systems and alerted all the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents in the Triskelion of HYDRA's infiltration, as well as Alexander Pierce's plans. With HYDRA's plan exposed, Wonsik, along with a group of nine other HYDRA operatives, continued on with the plan to make sure that Project Insight is put into effect. He shot down two security guards that were guarding the entrance to one of the Helicarriers, thus leading to an open battle in the Triskelion. During the battle, Captain America was able to switch the chips so the Hellicarriers to target themselves.[1]
