On December 22, 2025, The Direct posted the official confirmation of the comic, confirming that it is set on Earth-828. Therefore, the comic is considered official canon to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Direct also announced that the comic will "be written as if it were published by the Future Foundation" and is "taking place before the events of the movie but after the Fantastic Four have become the world-famous heroes they are."[1]
