Ezekiel "Zeke" Stane was the estranged son of Obadiah Stane who believed Stark Industries was his father's company and therefore his once Obadiah died. He then teamed up with A.I.M. and sought revenge on Iron Man until he was killed doing so.

Early Life[]
Born Out of Wedlock[]

Ezekiel Stane was born out of wedlock to Obadiah Stane and a woman. However, due to the nature of Ezekiel's mother, Obadiah wanted nothing to do with Ezekiel and paid the mother to keep quiet.[1]
Plot for Revenge[]
Attacking Stark[]
When Stane grew up, he learned that his father was killed by Iron Man and Obadiah had left his fortune to Ezekiel. Believing that he should get Stark Industries as well, Ezekiel sought revenge on Stark and joined with M.O.D.O.K. and A.I.M. to do so. Using their technology, Stane merged himself with armor, becoming a weapon.
When the time was right, Stane set out to attack Stark. Upon meeting his enemy, Stark was annoyed at another man in a suit. However, Stane told him that he was the next generation. Stark then realized Stane's armor was his body, shocking him. Stane then attacked, sending a barrier at Stark, who dodged it. When Stane was defeated, he warned Stark of what was to come and retreated.[1]
Round Two[]
Later on, Stane met Iron Man again, who was confused on why Stane hated him, not knowing Stane's identity. It was then where Stane revealed his last name, shocking Stark who had no idea Iron Monger had a son. Stark then told Ezekiel that Obadiah was the one that tried to kill him. Ezekiel did not care because Obadiah was a lousy father. However, Stark Industries was his right. Another fight ensued where Ezekiel was defeated again and retreated.[1]
Kidnapping Potts[]
- "I won't hurt this pretty little thing... yet. She knows all your bank accounts, access codes... and she's going to make them mine"

While Iron Man was off fighting Living Laser, Stane kidnapped Pepper Potts. When Stark later called Potts, Stane was on the other line. Stane went on about how he would kill Potts after she gave him all of the information on Stark Industries. Stane later doubled down and told Stark he would be merciful and kill him quickly so he did not have to watch Potts die.
Stane later met with Stark, who wanted to save Potts. Stane told Stark that he was a mentor to him and he learned that he should take everything someone cared about, just like Stane was about to do to Stark. Stane then coldly revealed that he had Potts hooked up to a power supply that was painfully and gradually getting deadly. During the fight, Stane suddenly collapsed and exploded on the spot as Iron Patriot saved Potts.[1]
