Eternity is one of the Cosmic Entities. He resides in a realm that can only be accessed from the Gates of Eternity. It is said that the first person to reach Eternity would be granted a wish. When Gorr the God Butcher became that first person, he wished for the resurrection of his daughter, Love.

Birth[]
Eternity came into existence at the dawn of time along with Infinity, Death, and Entropy.[1]
Residing in His Realm[]
Eternity took residence in a dimension consisting of an endless ocean and sunny skies. Those who wish to enter would have to open the Gates at the center of the universe with a key.[2]
Known Throughout the Universe[]

A mural depiction of Eternity and the other entities surrounding the Infinity Stones is displayed in the Temple Vault on Morag.[3][4] The knowledge of Eternity and his whereabouts became known throughout the universe to various beings.[2]
Gorr's Vow[]

In 2025, the All-Black the Necrosword corrupted Gorr the God Butcher and tasked him into seeking Eternity so that he may fulfill his wish in eliminating all the gods. Armed with the knowledge on how to get to Eternity, Gorr went on a crusade to kill any god that he came across while searching for a means to access the Bifrost Bridge which would grant him access to Eternity. After learning that Stormbreaker could be the means to access the Bridge, Gorr set upon in finding a way to steal it from Thor.[2]
Restoring Love[]
Gorr arrived at the Gates of Eternity and used Stormbreaker to open the Bifrost Bridge allowing for him to get access to Eternity's Realm.
Eternity was then approached by Gorr, who was about to make his wish, when he was stopped by Thor, who had arrived with Jane Foster. Thor told him to stop and reconsider his wish, stating that love is what he sought and that he could bring his daughter back.
Gorr considered this and made his wish to Eternity. Eternity then restored Love, bestowing her with cosmic powers, before leaving them.[2]

- Cosmic Entity Physiology: Eternity is a very powerful cosmic entity that exists since the at the dawn of time. He is the temporal representation of the universe and has unlimited control of reality.
- Immortality: Eternity has existed since the dawn of time.
- Self-Sustenance: Eternity is completely free from any physical limitations.
- Nigh-Omnipotence: As the embodiment of the universe itself, Eternity has almost unlimited power about the universe, only surpassed by The Living Tribunal.
- Wish Granting: Eternity is able to grant wishes.
- Resurrection: Eternity is able to resurrect the dead. When Gorr the God Butcher wished his daughter to come back to life, Eternity restored her to life.
- Power Bestowal: Eternity is able to give powers to anyone. When Love was resurrected by Eternity at Gorr's request, Eternity gave her divine cosmic powers.
- Wish Granting: Eternity is able to grant wishes.
- Nigh-Omniscience: As the embodiment of time itself, Eternity knows everything that happened and happens now.

- In the comics, Eternity and Infinity are the personification of the universe itself. Eternity embodies the temporal aspect while Infinity embodies the spatial aspect, but they are two sides of the same coin. Each reality has its own Eternity and they all make up a larger Eternity which embodies the entire multiverse.
