The Escape from Cassandra Nova's Lair was an attempt by Deadpool and Wolverine to escape from Cassandra Nova and avoid being devoured by Alioth.

Pyro overpowers Human Torch
Before Deadpool and Wolverine could continue their fight, Johnny Storm suddenly showed up and interrupted them, claiming that they will lose if they keep fighting each other. Deadpool initially mistook Storm for Steve Rogers and told Wolverine about it, before Storm pointed at the distance as Cassandra Nova's Henchmen were arriving to capture the three of them along with the captured Minuteman. As the henchmen surrounded the three, Pyro remarked that Cassandra Nova will be satisfied with their haul and told them that there was no way to run, but Storm had no intention of running. He then summoned his powers and flew up, firing a heat blast at Pyro, but he effortlessly absorbed it with his pyrokinesis and drained Storm's powers, causing him to have a very rough fall on the ground.
Wolverine kills Sabretooth
Deadpool and Wolverine then both claimed that they did not know Storm, but Sabretooth recognized Wolverine, who was a variant of his half-brother and moved in to engage. Once Deadpool removed his knives and katanas from Wolverine's body, both mutants lunged at each other. Wolverine was able to decapitate Sabretooth with a single strike of his claws, and Deadpool taunted the rest of the henchmen with his head. As Wolverine was gearing to keep fighting, Pyro signaled Toad who activated the giant magnet they had and incapacitated both of them because of Wolverine's adamantium skeleton and Deadpool's Katanas, before they got knocked out by a Sentinel's leg.
Cassandra Nova kills Human Torch
The henchmen then tied up Deadpool, Wolverine and Storm and put them into the bigger Prison Ball to transport them back to their lair along with the minuteman in the smaller ball. While they passed through the pruned Giza Pyramid Complex, Storm explained that they were in the Void and everyone who gets sent there by the Time Variance Authority has only two choices, either get consumed by Alioth or serve under Nova, while mentioning the Resistance hiding in the borderlands. Brought to the lair, Deadpool and Wolverine were approached by Nova, who was amused by their audacity and released them from shackles. Nova then turned Storm whom she was hunting for quite a while, before Deadpool proceeded to repeat every insult Storm hurled at her direction while they were in a Prison Ball. Realizing his situation, Storm immediately denied that he said any of that, but Nova eventually got fed up with his excuses and killed Storm by flaying him with her telekinesis.

Deadpool talks to Cassandra Nova
Nova diverted her attention to Alioth at the horizon, knowing that he was hungry, while Deadpool tried to explain that his goal was to save his universe and he needed Wolverine for that. She taunted Deadpool by claiming that he does not strike her as a world-saving type, which Deadpool did not take well and threatened Nova to either help or step aside. Nova brushed his threats aside and told them that the TVA sent her to the Void when she was a child, after she tried to kill Charles Xavier in their mother's womb, and proclaimed that the Void is a paradise where she could be herself without shame or restraint.
Cassandra Nova survives Wolverine's attack
Wolverine attempted to attack Nova but she effortlessly buried him into the ground with her telekinesis and turned to Deadpool. Intimidated, Deadpool said that he had no trouble with Nova and simply wanted to go home and save his friends, to which Nova replied that while she could get him home, she had no intention to do so. Nova then used her powers to forcefully enter Deadpool's mind and looked through his memories, using his mental image of Vanessa Carlysle to taunt him and say that he will never matter. Deadpool then pulled out his Baby Knife and while Nova was not impressed by it, Wolverine managed to get himself out of the ground and impaled Nova with his claws, while Deadpool added by throwing his knife in her as well.
However, Nova's powers made her invulnerable to their attacks as she easily brushed off both Deadpool and Wolverine and remarked that it was time to feed Alioth, as he was advancing on the lair. While Nova and her subordinates proceeded to take shelter, Alioth attacked the lair and consumed numerous henchmen who failed to find a place to hide in time. Wolverine then found a Sentinel leg and forcefully jumpstarted its jet engine, so he and Deadpool could grab onto it and fly away from Nova and Alioth. Nova regarded the sight of their escape as they flew high into the sky and crashed somewhere away in the Void, safe from Alioth's hunger.[1]
Aftermath[]
Escaping from Cassandra Nova and Alioth, Wolverine considered their situation as they needed to return to the Time Variance Authority, so Mr. Paradox could fix his universe like Deadpool promised. Wolverine decided that their next move would be finding the Resistance to gain their help, so the two embarked on the journey through the Void, while Deadpool talked about Vanessa Carlysle and his failure to join up with the X-Men or the Avengers. He then told Wolverine that his variant from his universe died a hero, sacrificing himself to protect X-23 and other children.
On their way, Deadpool and Wolverine were approached by Dogpool and Nicepool who told them how to reach the borderlands and even provided them with Ol' Betsy to get there, despite Deadpool's protests. However, during their ride, Deadpool accidentally slipped up that he actually had no guarantee that the TVA would fix his universe, which Wolverine picked on immediately and stopped the car. Deadpool tried to explain that he made an educated wish because he needed Wolverine to save his loved ones, but Wolverine was way too enraged to listen and lashed out on Deadpool, hurling insults on him and claiming that he cannot save a relationship, let alone the whole universe. The two then proceeded to have a prolonged and brutal fight in the car until they were too exhausted and passed out while regenerating, while X-23 found the car and brought it to Hero Hideout.

Deadpool convinces the Resistance to fight Cassandra Nova
As they woke up, they found themselves at the hideout and got approached by the remaining Resistance members, Elektra, Blade, Gambit and X-23. As they explained that they all lost their homes because the TVA deemed them unneeded in the grand scheme of the Multiverse, Deadpool inspired them to get a closure by helping Deadpool fight Nova and save his universe which still could be saved. He admitted that Johnny Storm got killed by Nova, while omitting his role in his death, but still managed to convince the Resistance to take the fight to Nova and get an ending they deserved. Meanwhile, Pyro was in contact with Mr. Paradox and followed the two's trail on his orders, before receiving an order, while at Joe's Diner, to take Nova out as she was too much of a liability to his plans.
The Resistance confronts Cassandra Nova's crew
The Resistance drove up to Nova's lair, intending to incapacitate her and force her to get Deadpool and Wolverine out of the Void. They fought against Nova's henchmen, while Deadpool and Wolverine confronted Nova herself, but she was still way too strong for them. While Deadpool was out, Nova affected Wolverine's mind and tried to coerce him into letting go of his humanity and serve her, however, X-23 was able to deliver Juggernaut's helmet that Deadpool put on Nova's head and neutralized her powers. Deadpool threatened to kill Nova if she does not get them out of the Void but she still had no intention to help and claimed that either she or two of them die.
Suddenly, Pyro appeared and shot at Nova to carry out Mr. Paradox's order, but Wolverine knocked him out and told Deadpool to get the helmet off Nova so she would not die. He claimed that while he certainly wanted Nova dead, he cannot let her die on his watch out of his respect to Charles Xavier. Deadpool removed the helmet and Nova questioned Wolverine's decision, as he called out to Nova's humanity and asked her to help them save Deadpool's world. Nova reluctantly agreed and used Doctor Strange's Sling Ring to open an Inter-Dimensional Portal into Drive Max, located at Deadpool's world, so they managed to escape right before Alioth engulfed the lair. Nova then talked to Pyro and forced him to confess that Mr. Paradox wanted him dead so his plan would work without a hitch, despite Nova's agreement with the TVA, which she could not let slide.[1]
