Biography[]
Early Life[]
Helping Freddy Malick[]
Ernest Koenig ran a speakeasy The Krazy Kanoe during Prohibition. Koenig saw Freddy Malick living on the streets, so he offered Malick a job. He allowed him to work in his speakeasy and live there at a discounted rate.[1]
Alcohol Business[]
Governor's Campaign Party[]
In 1931, Koenig sent Jimmy Bottles to deliver some alcohol to William Dole, in exchange for the New York City Police Department keeping their distance while Koenig hosted a party held for Governor Franklin D. Roosevelt. Koenig recruited Wilfred Malick to work behind the bar at the party, only for Malick to disappear after making a delivery to Hell's Harbor and Koenig did not see him again.[1]
S.H.I.E.L.D. History[]
Eventually, Koenig became a Strategic Scientific Reserve asset and allowed SSR, as well as S.H.I.E.L.D. to use The Krazy Kanoe as a safehouse. Koenig's future grandchildren, Eric, Billy, Sam and LT Koenig all would go on to become S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.[1]
Abilities[]
- Expert Businessman: Koenig ran his own speakeasy known as The Krazy Kanoe which he used as a bar in the time of prohibition. This required secretive ways to get in including the spoken password of "swordfish". When prohibition ended, Koenig turned it into mostly a hang out bar for S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.
- Tactician: Koenig was very cautious while running his business, bribing NYPD police officers through a proxy in order to protect it.
