- "They’re trying to save the world."
"Yeah, with a magic transmitter that fits in your pocket?"

Episode 2 is the second episode of the first season of Marvel Zombies.
Synopsis[]
On the open road, the hunger for flesh rules all.
Plot[]
At the beginning of the Zombie Apocalypse, chaos consumes San Francisco, not only due to zombies, but also Pym Particles technology going haywire. Shang-Chi and Katy Chen rush through the streets to Chinatown to check on Chen's mother, but to her horror, the whole districts is burning down. She has no time to grief as zombies close in on them, but Jimmy Woo arrives to help the survivors evacuate.
They soon get surrounded by a zombie horde, so Shang-Chi uses his fighting skills to keep them at bay, while Woo shoots the ones that try to come closer. Suddenly, the Ten Rings helicopters fly to the city and open fire on zombies, before Xu Wenwu descends to fight them on the ground. Shang-Chi is shocked to see his father again and insists that they should help the people, although Wenwu insists that they are not important. Shang-Chi then gets bitten by a zombie and as the Quantum Virus spreads through his arm, Wenwu takes off his rings and uses them to contain the infection, saving Shang-Chi.
Leaving himself defenseless without his rings, Wenwu tells Shang-Chi to remember what his mother taught him, before zombies swarm him. Shang-Chi is horrified but collects himself and helps Chen, Woo and other survivors to get on the helicopter with Death Dealer and fly out of the city. As Shang-Chi decides that they must keep surviving, their group roams through the United States wasteland for five years in search of a safe haven. As they transport a batch of live cows, they get attacked on the road by Skrull bandits, but they manage to fight them off with little issue.
They eventually reach a New Orleans checkpoint of the City on the Sea, offering cows as a tribute to be let into their community. Shang-Chi then runs into Red Guardian, Kamala Khan, Blade Knight and Yelena Belova, although the situation goes wrong when the former sees an infection on Shang-Chi's arm. Assuming that Shang-Chi was a zombie, Red Guardian almost causes their groups to get into a fight, but it gets broken off by Baron Zemo and John Walker. As a community leader, Zemo voices his distrusts towards the heroes, but agrees to let them in, as long as they respect the order he has built.
Everyone gets aboard the City on the Sea, Zemo's safe haven on the drifting Raft, protected from any zombie that may try to get in. As Shang-Chi and Chen finally get to sleep in beds, Zemo gathers the community to honor the ones they have lost, as Khan, Belova and Red Guardian take a moment to grieve for those they lost. As the Raft dives below the surface, Khan and Shang-Chi's groups join up at the dinner and get to know each other better. Khan then tells Shang-Chi and Chen about the Intergalactic Transmitter and their mission to get in touch with the Nova Corps and stop the outbreak. Blade also adds that they are heading to New Asgard to get the ship for a space travel, and Shang-Chi wishes them luck.
At night, Zemo joins Walker in the control room, while the zombified Talokanil keep trying to breach the Raft. Although Walker is concerned, Zemo is certain that the Raft will be safe, as it was constructed to stop the strongest beings on Earth. Walker then asks what should they do if their leader shows up, to which Zemo replies that they can always use the heroes they got onboard. At their room, Shang-Chi and Chen talk about their new acquaintances, and while Shang-Chi does not think much of Khan and others' plan, Chen says that they have not given up on hope, which makes her jealous. Meanwhile, Okoye and the horde bring down the New Orleans checkpoint and she awakens Namor to hunt down Khan's group.
Khan has a dream of a strange green figure standing in the pillar of energy, before the red figure attacks her once again. As Khan wakes up in cold sweat, Blade checks on her and concludes that Wanda Maximoff has Khan in her sights, sending visions into her mind. Khan tries to brush it off, saying that it was only a dream, before the alarms blare throughout the Raft and all housing cells get locked down. Zemo informs Khan's group that Namor is coming and the only way to keep him at bay is to feed him, so he ejects their cell from the Raft, intending to sacrifice them.
Zemo tells others that Khan and her group did promise to protect their city, while Shang-Chi and Chen are horrified and try to get out of their cell to save them. Khan forms a Noor sphere around them to protect them from water, before Namor attacks them and pushes them back into the Raft, getting inside. Namor and the Talokanil zombies attack everyone in sight, so Zemo orders everyone to get into the life pods, while catching Namor in a Hulk containment unit and leaves, leaving Khan, Shang-Chi and others behind. Belova manages to breach the door and they follow Zemo, fighting off the zombies on their way.
Zemo frantically tries to activate the life pod but it fails without manual override, before Khan and others get through the door to him. As the survivors try to hold off Namor, Belova forces Zemo to tell her about manual override and rushes there to activate the life pod. Namor proves himself to be way too strong, killing Walker and several other survivors, as Khan is terrified to see her friends in danger yet again. She then distracts him with the transmitter and jams her Noor-charged first into Namor's mouth, while the others hold him off, and Khan uses Noor to make Namor's head explode.
As the life pod finally opens, the survivors and Zemo get inside but before they take off, Red Guardian realizes that Belova has not returned yet. Belova then contacts them through PA and tells them to leave, as she is cut off by the horde and will not be joining them. Red Guardian begs her not to give up and come with them, but Belova says that it will not be a bad death and asks her father to honor her with every breath he takes. She then ejects the life pod out of the Raft and pours herself a drink, waiting for the horde to get into the control room and get her. Red Guardian and others are heartbroken to lose Belova, while Zemo questions where should they head next and Shang-Chi tells him to take them to New Asgard.
