The Einherjar Shield is a circular shield used by the Einherjar.
History[]
Ancient Times[]
The Einherjar arrive on Svartalfheim
During the First Battle of Svartalfheim, King Bor led the Einherjar into battle against Malekith and the Dark Elves. The shield was among the equipment carried by them. They used the shield to drive back the Dark Elves and force Malekith to sacrifice his own forces, and retreat into space.[1]
Battle of Vanaheim[]
During the Battle of Vanaheim, Thor fought alongside the Einherjar, who fought against the Marauders, using their shields to defend against their attacks. After Thor defeated the Kronan Stone Man, the Einherjar arrested the remaining Marauders and took them to the Asgardian Dungeons.[1]
Prison Break[]

After Kurse broke free of his cell in the Asgardian Dungeons, he started to set free the rest of the prisoners with the exception of Loki, gaining the attention of the Einherjar, who used the shields to defend against the escaping prisoners, and the invading Dark Elves.[1]
Loki's Escape[]
When Thor helped Loki escape with the help of Jane Foster, Lady Sif, and the Warriors Three, the Einherjar attempted to stop them under orders of Odin. They used their shields to over power Volstagg who was attempting to hold them off to give time for Thor to start the Dark Elf Harrow.[1]
The Tragedy of Loki of Asgard[]

While watching The Tragedy of Loki of Asgard, "Odin" had the Einherjar standing guard, watching over him. When Thor came and confronted "Odin" about the Nine Realms in chaos. The Einherjar brandished their shields, ready to protect their king against Thor, but lowered them when "Odin" revealed himself to be Loki.[2]
Hela's Arrival[]
When Hela arrived on Asgard to reclaim her throne, the Einherjar, lead by Hogun, attempted to defend it. Although wielding the shields, Hela was too powerful for them to fend off and took out the entire Einherjar, getting past their shields and killing them all.[2]

TVA Footage[]
After capturing a variant Loki, Hunter B-15, took him into custody. After going through a trial with Judge Renslayer, he was taken by Mobius M. Mobius. Mobius took him to a time theater and used a TVA Holoprojector to show him footage of his other counterpart when he was brought before Odin. A shield was visible in the background as Loki clicked through the slides.[3]
Avengers Assassinated[]
After invading Earth, Loki arrived at the United Nations Headquarters to speak to the enite world. While doing so, he had the Einherjar stand guard both beside and behind him as he spoke to the United Nations about their new arrangement.[4]
Capabilities[]
The Einherjar Shield is circular in nature, and can block many attacks, including shots from Dark Elf Particle Rifles and other munitions.[5] When the shield blocks an attack, it emits a blue glow from where the strike landed. While it can block many attacks, the shield is unable to survive attacks from Black Hole Grenades, which have the same effect on the shield as it does on any other object.[1]
