Echo is an American web television series based on the Marvel Comics superhero of the same name. The series is a spin-off of Hawkeye. It is the twenty-third television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the eighth installment of Phase Five, and the first installment under the Marvel Spotlight banner. The series is produced by Marvel Studios and was released on Disney+ and Hulu.
The first season was released on January 9, 2024.

On March 22, 2021, Variety reported that a Hawkeye spin-off series centered on Echo was in development for Disney+ with Alaqua Cox set to reprise her role as the title character and that Etan Cohen and Emily Bowen-Cohen were attached to write and executive produce.[2]
On June 2, 2021, it was reported that the series was scheduled to start production in January 2022.[3] On July 5, 2021, it was reported that the working title of the series was "Whole Branzino".[4]
On August 13, 2021, it was reported that the series was scheduled to start production in February 2022 and that Marvel Studios had begun a casting search for the series.[5]
On November 12, 2021, during Disney+ Day 2021, it was officially announced that the series was in development.[6] The next day, Marion Dayre revealed that she was the head writer of the series, despite an earlier report that Etan Cohen and Emily Bowen-Cohen were attached to write the series.[7] Two weeks later, it was reported that the series would start production in April 2022 in Atlanta[8] and wrap by late August.[9]
On March 14, 2022, it was reported that Graham Greene had joined the cast of the series in an undisclosed role.[10] Three days later, it was reported that the series was scheduled to start production on April 4.[11] On March 19, 2022, it was reported that Sydney Freeland would direct at least one episode of the series.[12]
On April 5, 2022, it was revealed that Vincent D'Onofrio and Charlie Cox would be reprising their roles as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin and Matt Murdock/Daredevil, respectively, in the series. It was also revealed that the series would premiere in 2023.[13]
On April 20, 2022, Alaqua Cox revealed that the series would start production on April 21.[14] On April 28, 2022, Deadline reported that Devery Jacobs had joined the cast of the series.[15]
On May 17, 2022, it was announced that Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Cody Lightning, and Zahn McClarnon had joined the cast of the series. It was also announced that Catriona McKenzie would direct episodes of the series.[16] By the end of the month, it was revealed that the working title of the series was "Solidarity".[17]
On July 7, 2022, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Vincent D'Onofrio and Charlie Cox would be reprising their respective roles from MCU media in the series. It was also reported that the series would include a plotline in which Daredevil is searching out a "former ally", who would be Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones.[18]
On July 23, 2022, at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, Kevin Feige announced that the series would premiere in Summer 2023.[19] The following month, Alaqua Cox revealed that the series had wrapped production.[20]
On December 13, 2022, it was revealed that the series would premiere in late 2023 instead of Summer 2023.[21]
On February 14, 2023, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Mato Wayuhi would be composing the score for the series.[22]
On May 16, 2023, it was announced that all episodes of the series would be released on November 29th.[23]
On July 3, 2023, it was reported that Juwan Lakota had joined the cast of the series in an undisclosed role.[24]
On September 1, 2023, The Hollywood Reporter reported that the series would be released in January 2024 instead of on November 29.[25] By the end of the month, it was revealed that the series would be released on January 10, 2024.[26]
On November 3, 2023, it was announced that the series would also be streaming on Hulu until April 9, 2024.[27] It was also announced that the series would be rated TV-MA.[28] The next day, it was announced that the series would be the first project released under the Marvel Spotlight banner.[29]
On December 7, 2023, Dave Porter revealed that he had composed the series' score, replacing Mato Wayuhi.[30] On December 16, 2023, it was revealed that the series would be released on January 9, 2024, a day earlier than initially intended.[31]
