Echo is an upcoming American web television series, based on the Marvel Comics superhero of the same name. The series is a spin-off of and a sequel to Hawkeye. It is the twenty-fifth television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and an installment of Phase Four. The series is produced by Marvel Studios and will be released on Disney+.[3]
The first season will premiere in 2023.[2]
Synopsis
Season One
The origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.[4]

On March 22, 2021, Variety reported that a Hawkeye spin-off centered on Echo was in development for Disney+ with Alaqua Cox set to reprise her role as the title character in the series and that Etan Cohen and Emily Bowen-Cohen were attached to write and executive produce.[3]
On June 2, 2021, it was reported that the series was scheduled to start production in January 2022.[6]
On July 5, 2021, it was reported that the working title of the series was "Whole Branzino".[7]
On August 13, 2021, it was reported that the series was scheduled to start production in February 2022 and that Marvel Studios had begun a casting search for the series.[8]
On November 12, 2021, during Disney+ Day 2021, it was officially announced that the series was in development.[9] The next day, Marion Dayre revealed that she was the head writer of the series, despite an earlier report that Etan Cohen and Emily Bowen-Cohen were attached to write the series.[1]
On November 26, 2021, it was reported that the series would start production in April 2022 in Atlanta[10] and wrap by late August.[11]
On March 14, 2022, it was reported that Graham Greene had joined the cast of the series in an undisclosed role.[12]
On March 17, 2022, it was reported that the series was scheduled to start production on April 4.[13]
On March 19, 2022, it was reported that Sydney Freeland would direct at least one episode of the series.[14]
On April 5, 2022, it was reported that Vincent D'Onofrio and Charlie Cox would be reprising their Marvel Cinematic Universe roles of Wilson Fisk/Kingpin and Matt Murdock/Daredevil, respectively, in the series and that it would premiere in 2023.[2]
On April 20, 2022, Alaqua Cox revealed that the series would start production on April 21.[15]
On April 28, 2022, Deadline reported that Devery Jacobs had joined the cast of the series and that she would portray Julie.[5]
On May 17, 2022, it was announced that Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Cody Lightning, and Zahn McClarnon had joined the cast of the series. It was also announced that Catriona McKenzie would direct episodes of the series.[4]
On May 24, 2022, it was revealed that the working title of the series was "Solidarity".[16]
