"How you're alive, sitting here, is a miracle to me. You're lucky that your government intervened, that Interpol was brought in at all for something as serious as this. Three highly decorated members of the Russian Government, murdered in cold blood, on Russian soil, by former S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. In another time we would have found you three feet below the ice, if we found you at all. You must have something to say for yourself?"
―Duval to Bobbi Morse[src]

Duval is an inspector of the Interpol who was ordered to interrogate Bobbi Morse and Lance Hunter in connection to the murders of General Androvich, Yuri Krupin, and Anton Petrov.

Interrogating Morse and Hunter

"I have to say, I have never encountered someone like you."
"Oh, why, thank you."
"Someone who has the ability to spout absolute nonsense with such ease."
―Duval and Lance Hunter[src]

After the murders of General Androvich, Yuri Krupin, and Anton Petrov, the former S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Bobbi Morse and Lance Hunter were caught. President Matthew Ellis contacted Interpol to clear up the matter, and the organization sent Duval to investigate. Duval interrogated the two, who denied they were the assassins of the three government members. With the help of a polygraph, Duval tried to reveal who they were working for and what were they doing in Siberia, but they did not answer. Eventually, he showed a picture of one of the victims. He asked Morse why he had killed him, but she said she had not.

He then asked if Hunter had committed the murder, causing Morse to hesitate. Duval stated that he now knew Hunter was the killer, so he would be put on Russian trial and be executed. Later, he asked Morse to admit they were still working for S.H.I.E.L.D. so Hunter's life could be saved. He then brought Hunter to Morse's room. With the help of Phil Coulson, Duval became convinced that Morse and Hunter were not S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, and Prime Minister Dimitri Olshenko released the pair from incarceration.[1]
