Duel With the Devil is the sixth episode of the first season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
Synopsis[]
Peter's night off is derailed when he must suit up to stop a mysterious intruder.
Plot[]

Peter Parker notices that something is bothering Nico Minoru and tries to reach out to her, thinking that she is upset that Parker invited Harry Osborn to see a movie with them. Minoru insists that she is fine, but then Parker tells her that he invited Harry to hang out with them at his place. She is still skeptical about Harry, but Parker assures Minoru that Harry would be a good friend, as he wants the two to get along.
Lonnie Lincoln gets kicked out of the football team for repeatedly skipping classes and practice, which greatly saddens him. Pearl Pangan tries to reach out to Lincoln and get him to talk about what is going on, but he refuses to talk. Lincoln tells her that he has to make difficult decisions for his family's sake, while the team does not actually need him. Pangan is not satsified with his answer and says that she can help him, but Lincoln only replies that he is glad that he does not have to live up to people's expectations anymore, before walking away. With Lincoln gone, Parker gets partnered with Pangan for science project, who is deeply upset at how Lincoln is treating her.

Lincoln returns home, lying to his parents that he returned earlier because the football practice got cancelled, but gets confronted by his brother Andre. He tells Lincoln that he made a mistake by trying to get him out of the 110th Street Gang because he had more to lose than Andre, saying that he has less to lose than Lincoln and only wanted a place to belong. Lincoln tries to shut him down but Andre notes that he cannot keep lying to their parents forever. Lincoln gets fed up with his brother and leaves the house, not noticing a car following him.

Parker tells Harry about their plans to hang out with Minoru, although Harry is unsure that he would not be a third wheel again. Parker understands his concern but assures him that he will make sure all three of them will be having fun together. Norman Osborn prepares himself for a charity dinner, telling both Parker and Harry that all of them are having a day off. While Harry goes to get his stuff, Parker notices Jeanne Foucault sneaking up to a top floor of Oscorp Tower, telling her that she is not supposed to be there, so she leaves abruptly.

Parker, Minoru and Harry gather at Parker Residence, as May Parker prepares food and movies for them and leaves the apartment. Parker tries to break an ice with them, talking about their uprbinging, which does not go too well. They then decide to watch Predator on VHS, while Parker receives texts from Carla Connors about their project at Oscorp. Minoru and Harry notice that Parker seems distracted, but he brushes it off and turns his phone off to join them.

Osborn attends a charity dinner as one of the donors, organized to support the victims of the Lagos incident. He meets with Thaddeus Ross who talks to Osborn about Sokovia Accords and an ongoing manhunt on Steve Rogers. Osborn pledges his support to the government, informing Ross that he is currently employing Spider-Man as his superhuman agent, although the file details John Gallo instead of Parker to protect his identity. As Osborn pitches Oscorp resources to help the government, Ross points out at a security breach alert that Osborn needs to attend.

Parker, Minoru and Harry manage to bond while playing board games, before Harry receives a call from his father who needed to talk to Parker. Osborn informs Parker about a security breach and asks him to investigate, although Parker does not want to leave his friends. Osborn insists that it should not take long and Oscorp security is an important issue, so Parker relents and agrees to check on the situation. Parker excuses himself and leaves Minoru and Harry together, before suiting up and heading over to Oscorp Tower.

Walking on the streets, Lincoln notices the car following him and realizes that he is being tailed by Carmilla Black, so he tries to escape. Black pursues Lincoln who fails to outrun her, but Bulldozer shows up and helps Lincoln, which Black was counting on.

Spider-Man arrives at Oscorp Tower where he finds unconscious security guards and Osborn's personal computer being accessed, before spotting an intruder. He rushes to the rooftop where he comes face to face with Daredevil and the two fight each other. Daredevil proves to be a formidable opponent, while trying to tell Spider-Man that Osborn is hiding something, but Spider-Man does not listen. Daredevil then knocks Spider-Man out and escapes, after which Spider-Man gets told by Osborn to wait for him so the two could regroup and discuss their situation.

Minoru and Harry share an awkward moment without Parker, but then the latter reveals that he also has an interest in spiritism and occult, so Minoru suggests to do a tarot reading for Harry. However, she soon discovers that Harry did not actually mean that and gets upset at him again. Harry apologizes to Minoru and tries to assure her that he is not trying to get between her and Parker. Minoru insists that he cannot do that since they are very close to each other and tell each other everything. Harry assumes that Minoru also knows Parker's secret but as Minoru tells him to be more specific, Harry ends up revealing it to her.

Osborn explains to Parker that he had been looking into the devices Spider-Man encountered on super-powered criminals and found out that they were all developed by Otto Octavius. He reveals that Octavius used to work for Oscorp but his arrogance and desire for recognition drove him to stole the project he and Osborn were working on together. Osborn theorizes that Octavius could have hired Daredevil to sabotage him, but Parker doubts that since he is different from the foes he had faced before.

Parker then remembers about Minoru and Harry and rushes back to his apartment but Minoru implies that she is aware of his secret. Parker then drops his backpack with Spider-Man Suit inside, and realizing that he has been lying to her, Minoru leaves without another word.

Lincoln retreats to the hideout after escaping from Black and Big Donovan promises that the gang will keep him safe. However, it was all a ruse to lead Black to the gang hideout, so she informs Mac Gargan that the plan worked. Gargan thanks Black for carrying out her mission, while Octavius provides him with the Scorpion Suit.
