Are we really helping these people build a better world? We're just like the soldiers down there. Pawns to their leaders. Blinded by loyalty."
Druig is a member of the genetically engineered Eternals, which came to Earth around 5000 BC. He possesses the ability to control minds. Despite developing a close relationship with fellow Eternal Makkari, he grew disillusioned with their mission and chose to leave the Eternals, forming a society of mind-controlled humans. Living in a self imposed exile for centuries, Druig led his secret society, keeping them safe from what he saw as the horrors of the outside world.
When the Eternals reformed in 2024 to stop the Emergence, they traveled to Druig's compound to convince him to join them once again. While he was initially unwilling, the Deviant attack on his people forced him to reconsider, and he reconciled with his old friends. Following their victory, Druig and the remaining Eternals went their separate ways, with Druig joining Makkari and Thena in leaving Earth aboard the Domo in order to search for other Eternals across the galaxy. In space, the trio encountered Thanos' adoptive brother, Starfox.
Druig was built and programmed by Arishem the Judge, and was presumably sent to multiple planets to protect and help evolve sentient life forms from the Deviants, powering a Celestial seed inside the planet, which would absorb the energy made from the sentient lifeforms. Eventually, the Emergence would occur, destroying the planet in the process. Upon finishing their mission, the Eternals would be sent back to the World Forge to have their memories erased and reset.[3]
Druig, alongside the rest of the Eternals, was sent to Earth on the Domo. Once awoken, the Eternals were provided with suits to wear before arriving at the planet. Not being one of the Eternal's main fighters, Druig waited as the others fought the Deviants. When the Deviants attacking the humans were defeated, Druig came down, using his powers to calm the humans, and the Eternals presented themselves to the race they were assigned to protect. Over the course of history, Druig continued to assist the Eternals in the extermination of the Deviants.
Like the other Eternals, Druig resided in Babylon in 575 B.C.. He witnessed Phastos designing the steam engine to be used by the Babylonians, joking that Humans only knew the wheel for a thousand years and that such a sophisticated invention was too soon to be given to Humanity. Later, Druig was present at a party held to celebrate the victory of the Eternals against other Deviants such as Enkidu. During the party, he conversed with two Babylonians who claimed to be able to help Makkari find the Emerald Tablet, before using his powers to stop a brawl, although Makkari reminded him that he was not supposed to. Druig then agreed to not tell anyone about Makkari stealing items if she kept silent to Ajak regarding what he had done.
In 1084, Druig and Makkari arrived in Heian-Kyo to help the city with violent Deviants. Upon arrival, Makkari engaged in a battle with a deviant named Kappa while Druig watched from the sidelines. A finishing punch was delivered after a man named Yoshiie Minamoto shot the deviant with an arrow.
After, they three of them devised a plan to eradicate the deviants. However, Kappa returned and leapt towards Minamoto. Druig jumped in front of him and got badly bitten by the deviant. Seeing no other way, Druig apologized to Minamoto before controlling him to use his katana to severe Kappa's arm. Druig assumed that Kappa died from the wounds.
To show his gratitude, Minamoto gifted Druig the katana, called the Onikirimaru.[1]
Nearly 500 years later, in 1520 while discovering a Deviants Nest, Druig realized that Kappa was alive and took his controlling powers. He then used his powers to control many deviants to attack the Eternals. This was going on for 500 years. The Eternals then defeated Kappa and the others once and for all.[1]
Retelling Heian-Kyo[]
Later, Druig saw Makkari and Sersi ask Sprite where the Onikirimaru came from. Sprite created an illusion to retell the story about how Druig obtained it while Makkari and Druig narrated.[1]
Druig was present in the Aztec Capital of Tenochtitlan as it was attacked by the Spanish conquistadores. Since a group of Deviants was also there at the time, he waited with other Eternals in a nearby forest while the fighting Eternals disposed of the creatures. Upon witnessing the fights between the Spanish and the Aztecs, Druig attempted to mind-control them to end the war, only to be stopped by Ajak who reminded him that the Eternals were not supposed to interfere in human wars, also Druig replied that what they were watching was not a true war but rather a genocide. Druig then blamed Phastos for having helped Humans to develop firearms which were now used to fuel their wars.
However, before the argument could escalate further, Thena suffered from a Mahd Wy'ry episode, which caused her to attack other Eternals. Druig knelt beside Phastos after he was wounded, and was nearly struck by Thena's spear before Makkari drove her away, even though she was severely hurt in the process. Later, once Thena had been knocked unconscious, Druig and the other Eternals stood beside her, waiting for her to regain consciousness. As Ajak explained that she had to erase her memories, Druig criticized this decision, stating that this would wipe out Thena's identity.
A devastated Druig then proceeded to let go of all of his frustration, as he was upset at the loss of his home and the humans he grew to love and he wanted to be able to save the place from devastation. Nevertheless, he was instructed by Ajak to abstain from human affairs, but he ignored her command and used his powers to stop the fights between the Spanish and the Aztecs, defying Ikaris who ordered him to stop. Refusing to obey Ajak any longer, Druig deserted from the Eternals and ended the Spanish conflict himself, taking a group of humans with them and successfully leading them into a life of isolation.[3]
Starting a Community[]
"Do you all remember this forest? Beautiful. It's the last place we all lived together. I've protected these people for twenty generations now from the outside world, and from themselves."
Over the next five hundred years, Druig founded and managed to run a community controlled by his own mind control powers deep within the Peruvian Amazonia.[2] He started a settlement and managed a peaceful lifestyle off the shores of Lake Junin, running a camp composed of farmers, woodworkers, and fishermen, among others.[3]
"I'll tell you what's serious! I've just been told I have been sent on a suicide mission for the past seven thousand years, and that my entire existence is a lie. So, excuse me for not giving a shit about your plan right now."
In 2024, Druig was visited in his compound by Sersi, Ikaris, Gilgamesh, Thena, Sprite and Kingo. He was then informed of what they had recently found out: Ajak had been killed by returning Deviants, and the true mission of the Eternals was to ensure the Emergence of a new Celestial, Tiamut the Communicator, which would cause the destruction of Earth, unless Druig was able to halt the Emergence with his mind-control abilities and put Tiamut to sleep. Upset by this reveal, Druig initially refused to help them stop the Emergence and mocked his fellow Eternals, especially Ikaris, taunting him for not having been chosen by Ajak to lead the Eternals after her, losing that role to Sersi.[3]
Later, Druig's compound was attacked by a pack of Deviants led by Kro. Druig mind-controlled his followers to fire guns at the creatures, but it ultimately did not do any significant damage, forcing Druig himself to enter the fray. Druig then reluctantly followed Sersi's advice and released his followers from his control, instructing them to seek refuge by the river. He then watched as Sersi was able to turn the Deviant attacking them into a tree. Along with the other Eternals, Druig then discovered that Gilgamesh had been killed by Kro.
Druig attended Gilgamesh's funeral held by Karun Patel, after which he observed Thena spreading Gilgamesh's ashes into the river. He was approached by Sersi, to whom he confessed his early plan to take over the mind of every human on Earth to eliminate free will as the source of violence, but abandoned the idea since he had understood that their flaws were a defining trait of Humanity. Commenting that the Deviants were becoming similar to Eternals as they grew their own consciousness, Druig agreed to follow Sersi in her attempt to stop the Emergence of Tiamut the Communicator. However, he insisted that his powers remained limited and, when Sersi told him that they would seek help from Phastos, Druig warned her that he would be hard to convince.[3]
Once Phastos agreed to come with his fellow Eternals, Druig and the rest of the group journeyed to Iraq to find the Domo. Upon arriving, Druig, whose presence was concealed by Sprite, used his powers to lead away a group of archaeologists. He then boarded the ship, where he was reunited with Makkari, being visibly flirtatious and gentle with her compared to his attitude towards the others, which shocked Phastos and Kingo.
Druig saw Ikaris holding the Emerald Tablet and traded a box of twinkies for it, he then taunted Makkari on how she had come in possession of the tablet. Druig then listened to Phastos detailing his theory of the Uni-Mind, thanks to which Druig could be able to harvest cosmic energy from the other Eternals to amplify his mind-control ability to be applied on Tiamut the Communicator, although both Ikaris and Kingo had their reservations about the plan. As they waited for Phastos to complete his design, Druig talked with Thena, whose Mahd Wy'ry had actually been a reminiscence of the fate that befell Earth, and who was determined to kill Kro in revenge for Gilgamesh's death.
Later, Druig witnessed the betrayal of Ikaris, as his fellow Eternal remained strictly loyal to Arishem the Judge and sought to prevent the other Eternals from stopping Tiamut's Emergence. As they discussed, Druig understood that Ikaris, who had known about the Emergence for centuries, had actually killedAjak to preserve Arishem's plan. Druig did not take part in the ensuing argument, watching in silence as both Ikaris and Sprite departed from the Domo. Druig then nodded when Karun Patel bid the Eternals farewell as Kingo also left, since he disagreed with the Eternals' plan but would not oppose them.
Druig forming a backup plan
As the remaining Eternals discussed their plan, Druig commented that they should be ready to kill Tiamut if he was not able to put him to sleep, mentioning that Sersi had been able to use her powers to turn a Deviant into a tree, although Sersi firmly refused to consider killing a Celestial.[3]
Once Phastos completed the bracelets which would enable the Eternals to achieve the Uni-Mind, and as the Emergence had begun, Druig used the equipment of the Domo to equip his armor along with his bracelet. While Thena distracted Ikaris, he then descended along with Sersi and Makkari and activated his bracelet, forming the Uni-Mind. This caused Druig and the Eternals to levitate over the ground, and gave Druig enough cosmic energy to begin putting Tiamut to sleep, temporarily halting his Emergence.
However, Druig was attacked from behind by Ikaris, which stopped the Uni-Mind. Druig was then taken into the air and thrown into the ground to be buried by Ikaris' eye beams before being left for dead. However, Druig was able to survive the ordeal and hit Sprite with a rock after she stabbed Sersi, giving the latter the time to stop Tiamut from emerging, as Druig claimed that he was not capable of doing it. Once Sersi activated the Uni-Mind for a second time to concentrate cosmic energy on herself, Druig lent her his own energy, thus enabling her to permanently stop Tiamut's Emergence by turning him into marble.
Once the battle was over, Druig reunited with Makkari and watched as Sersi used residual energy from the Uni-Mind to turn Sprite into an Human as she desired.[3]
In the aftermath of the battle to stop Tiamut's Emergence, Druig resided in Ajak's house for a time, after which he, Makkari and Thena departed with the Domo in an attempt to find other Eternals and tell them the truth about their origins and their purpose. Two weeks later, Druig and his friends were confused as to why the other Eternals who had remained on Earth were not communicating with them, and understood that Arishem the Judge's had probably done something to them.
As they decided to return to Earth, Druig noticed Makkari and Thena seemingly sensing something approaching the Domo. He then witnessed the arrival of Pip the Troll, who introduced them to another Eternal, Starfox, who claimed to be the brother of Thanos and offered to help them find their missing friends.[5]
Personality[]
"When I left, I thought about taking over the minds of every human on this planet. Violence, fear, greed, all gone." "Why didn't you?" "Because without their flaws, they wouldn't be human."
Druig can be described as a very sentimental individual, willing to do anything if he believes it's right. While he means well, his moral compass is flawed, as he will do anything in his power to bring around peace, even if it's inhumane, such as taking over the minds of others on a whim. He is extremely independent, disregarding the need for permission or rules when he believes something is genuinely important or very wrong and therefore in need of correcting, even if it meant going against the Prime Eternal's imperatives. However, he has boundaries that he cannot cross, shown in the fact that he didn't want to take over the minds of everyone on Earth to stop war. He understood that the violence of humans was one of their defining traits that made them human, thus respecting their free will and sense of individuality; also, depriving them of their capacity for aggression would understandably rob them of the ability to defend themselves in times of conflict with non-humans. It is apparent that he is an empathetic person because of the pain the suffering of others on Earth gave him. To those he knows he can also be very kind, with a flirtatious and sarcastic attitude. Most of the time, Druig also keeps a calm disposition, rarely raising his voice or losing temper. He only does this when he feels the matter is very important, at least to him.
Druig, at heart has heroic intentions. While he still is a dark individual, he is still driven to do what is right, and still has a deep care for his fellow Eternals and in addition, Humanity. Despite his flawed idealism and intense philosophical beliefs that make him so dangerous, Druig has proven that he can be just as heroic as the other Eternals, though definitely not as profound. However, most of the time, Druig exists with little concern for other's emotions whenever he is with others in person, and because of this, at times can at times be a bit of a jerk, as described by Karun Patel. His brash and insensitive nature is what makes him so insufferable, even to those he loves.

Eternal Physiology: By design from the Celestials, Druig is an Eternal possessing superhuman strength, durability, speed, agility, stamina, reflexes, and healing, numerous times superior than any normal human being, as well as immortality and being able to manipulate cosmic energy to a certain degree.
Superhuman Strength: Like all Eternals, Druig possesses great superhuman strength, numerous times stronger than any normal human being. During their attempt to stop the Emergence, Druig was able to hit Sprite over the head with a rock hard enough to knock her out; and before that, he presumably had to dig himself out of the crevice that Ikaris buried him in.
Druig's body is numerous times more resistant to physical and energy damage than any normal human being. During the final battle with Ikaris, Druig was able to withstand the cosmic energy beams projected at Druig's back by Ikaris in an attempt to stop him from putting the celestial to sleep, which caused Druig to stumble slightly. Druig even able to withstand the fall from extreme heights, as Ikaris grabbed Druig and flew up to the sky, where he used considerable force to throw him to the ground while projecting cosmic energy beams onto him, causing Druig to crash deep into the ground. Druig was able to withstand and survive all these vicious attacks with nothing more than a black eye. Further to this, Druig followed Sersi and Sprite into the molten grounds surrounding the volcano in order to help Sersi. He appeared unfazed by the immense heat generated by the lava and scorched earth around him.
Superhuman Speed: Druig can run and move at great superhuman speed, much faster than any normal human being.
Druig naturally possesses far greater agility, equilibrium, flexibility, dexterity, balance, and body coordination than any normal human being. During the Deviant attack in the Amazon forest, Druig was able to leap under a Deviants tail with precision to grab a shotgun, and then jump over the Deviant, which is considerably large in size, and use the shotgun to shoot it in the back of his head.
Superhuman Stamina: Druig's advanced musculature is considerably more efficient than any normal human being. As a result, his muscles virtually do not produce fatigue toxins during physical activity. His endurance allows him to exercise his maximum capacity for an extremely long period of time without tiring at all.
Superhuman Reflexes: Druig can react and dodge objects traveling at high speeds, much quicker than any normal human being.
Regenerative Healing Factor: Druig's metabolism enables him to rapidly regenerate damaged bodily tissue with far greater speed and efficiency than any normal human being. During the emergence, and after his attack by Ikaris, Druig suffered some minor facial damage. This appeared to be fully healed by the time he joined the other Eternals on the beach, after they had defeated Tiamut.
Immortality: As an Eternal, Druig is genetically able to live forever, without dying due to old age or illnesses.
Cosmic Energy Manipulation: By design of the Celestials, all Eternals are genetically capable of using cosmic energy. Each Eternal possesses a unique ability, all derived from the same cosmic power source. Druig uses his cosmic energy to control the minds of others.
Mental Manipulation:

With his comic energies, Druig is able to control and manipulate the minds of others. He has impressive range, able to influence every sapient mind present in a place as large as a city. Whenever Druig uses his abilities his irises emit a golden flare. Upon his arrival on Earth, Druig used his abilities to calm the Humans and elicit their trust.
Druig was able to transfer his consciousness into the body of an Amazonian villager and experience the world through their senses. Upon Druig's departure from the body, the villager retained no memory of his possession.
Telepathy: Druig is able to see into the minds of others, hear their thoughts and search their memories for any information that he might require. Whilst his psionic abilities are usually ineffective on his fellow Eternals, during one instance, Druig was even able to read the mind of Ikaris.
The Eternals can harness their cosmic powers together to create the Uni-Mind, which amplifies their powers. Thanks to the Uni-Mind developed by Phastos, Druig was able to use his ability to control minds through the use of cosmic energy to hold the Emergence of Tiamut the Communicator for a time. As a most notable sign, the volcanic eruption that had been caused by Tiamut's awakening progressively stopped. However, Druig could not achieve his task as he was attacked by Ikaris.
Levitation: During the Uni-Mind, Druig was able to float a few feet above the ground.
Abilities[]
Genius-Level Intellect: As one of the Eternals considered to be one of the thinkers of the group, Druig was extremely intelligent. He used his intellect to build his community and protect his followers for centuries.
Expert Combatant: Despite the fact that he was rarely seen fighting against the Deviants over the course of history, Druig was a perfectly capable fighter on his own. When a group of Deviants attacked his settlement, Druig took part in the fight and faced a creature to kill it.
Expert Marksman: Druig was proficient in the use of firearms, using one to attack the Deviant that threatened his followers.
Expert Acrobat: While fighting a Deviant, Druig proved to be an agile fighter performing feats of high agility.
Multilingualism: Druig is fluent in English, Babylonian, and sign language, using the latter to communicate with the deaf-mute Makkari. He also understood Hindi, as he responded to Karun Patel's farewell.
Shotgun: Druig is proficient with a shotgun, having owned one at his compound. Druig used his shotgun against an attacking Deviant when his compound was under siege.
Other Equipment[]
Celestial Armor: Druig donned a black armor, equipped on him by the Domo. The armor was durable enough to withstand multiple blows during the fight with the Deviants.

Domo: Druig, along with other Eternals, boarded on the Domo during their mission on Earth.
Facilities[]
Druig's Compound: Druig stayed in an isolated compound with his mind-controlled humans after leaving the Eternals. He later left this settlement after it was attacked by a pack of Deviants, and joined his fellow Eternals in an attempt to stop the Emergence of Tiamut the Communicator.
In the comics, Druig is a former agent of the KGB and a cousin to Ikaris. With a hunger for power, he often opposes the Eternals in order to establish dominance over them. Despite his various conflicts with them, he is always welcomed back into Eternal society to preserve unity.
