- "What bothers me is that last night, you were in my dream."
"That wasn't a dream. It was another universe." - ―Doctor Strange and America Chavez[src]
Dreams are the phenomenon of experiencing the life of an alternate version of oneself from another universe in the Multiverse that occurs during sleep.
The true nature of dreaming is unknown to most, and dreams being a look into the life of an alternate version of oneself was generally only accepted as a theory, even to the Masters of the Mystic Arts. Doctor Strange and Wong learned that this phenomenon was true after meeting America Chavez, who does not dream due to being a unique being in the Multiverse.
Prior to its destruction, the Darkhold contained a spell known as Dreamwalking, which allowed users to possess alternate versions of themselves, including those seen in their dreams.
