Donna Strange was Stephen Strange's younger sister.

Donna Strange died in an accident when she and her brother, Stephen, were playing over a frozen lake. The ice cracked causing Strange to fall and drown. Stephen was unable to save her, and this prompted him to become a doctor in order to save lives.

• In the comics, aside from Stephen Strange, Donna Strange has another brother named Victor. Stephen's interest on medicine was sparked after Donna suffered a skating accident when she was nine years old, eight years before drowning after getting a cramp.
• The death of Donna Strange is a fixed point in time within all Stephen Strange's lives in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Behind the Scenes

• Scott Derrickson revealed that Donna Strange's death scene was cut from Doctor Strange because, while incredibly emotional, it didn't fit the narrative of the movie. Derrickson hoped for the scene to be released in the home video version of the movie, but it did not happen.
• Lulu Wilson filmed her scene as Donna Strange back when she was in fifth grade and felt a bit "pissed off" at her scene being cut from the finished film, opining that it would have made "a good moment" for the film. During promotion of The Wrath of Becky in 2023, Wilson expressed interest in reprising the role.
