Beth Quinn took her son, Rex, to Donatello's on special occasions.
Beth and Rex ran out of food in their house the morning after Frank Castle spent the night with Beth. When Rex complained about the lack of food, Castle asked if there was a special place to eat breakfast that Rex liked, and the young boy quickly identified Donatello's and said he wanted pancakes. Castle agreed that he liked pancakes, and went to Donatello's with Rex and Beth.
The three ordered pancakes, and Frank and Rex added syrup to theirs. Castle talked about Beth's teaching profession, and Beth noticed the exorbitant amount of syrup that Rex had put on his pancakes, so she stopped him. Castle joked about the amount of syrup, and Rex suggested that Castle should be at the Quinn residence more often. Rex mentioned how rare it was for Beth to bring him to Donatello's, and suddenly wondered out loud if Beth and Castle were getting married. Beth assured him they weren't, and Rex figured out that the two had had sex the previous night. Rex explained his knowledge of sex, and Beth told him that they would talk about it at a different time. They discussed Castle's dead son and Rex's estranged father. The three eventually left, and Beth drove Castle back to his motel.[1]
