The book presents some differences with the movie. Doctors Bruner and Varma replace Billy and Patel's roles from the film. Before Strange's car accident, he receives a call from Billy in the film. In this book, Claire, Strange's assistant, is the one who calls him. Due to these and other differences, this book is considered to be non-canonical to the MCU.
